1. Dagger GT: 267 mph, 0-60 in 1.5 seconds (to be released soon).
This is Americaās greatest, powerful and fastest supercars yet. It has the European styling and the American muscles. The car is one of a kind with 2700 HP and may drive up to 315 mph or 500 km/h. The car is custom designed and hand made to your specifications. It includes dual aluminum intercoolers and 4 aluminum radiators and features an extreme biometric security system.
Update (04-05-2013): The company still needs to reveal live action shots of the Dagger GT, but they have released a video of the American hyperbeast. When the time comes that the company releases the car ā according to them, theyāre rolling out one of the two Dagger GT prototype – weāre gearing up for an ultimate speed-shaker of a ride, a car that could potentially shatter just about everyĀ speed record ever set for production cars.
2.Ā Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport: 268 mph, 0-60 in 2.4 seconds
This is a lightweight super car powered by 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1200 horsepower. It sells at $2,400,000, easily one of the highest priced cars in the top 10 list. The car is produced by Volkswagen Group subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles and was introduced in 2005 as the fastest production car in the world. The car now holds the record for the average top speed of 431 km/h or 267 mph in the Guinness Book of Records.
The name Super Sport comes from a suffix that has been associated with Chevyās SS cars. Many variations have been applied to Bentleys and Jaguars.
3. Hennessey Venom GT: 275 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds-
The car is powered by a turbocharged 6.2L V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine which is produced by 1200 horsepower. It sells at $950,000. Although not tested, the car can hit a top speed of 275 mph.
It is significant for its lightweight carbon fibre bodywork and carbon fibre wheels. It includes traction wheels and is equipped with a removable roof. According to Don Goldman (CEO), the car is perfect for those seeking a visceral, yet raw driving experience.
The 2013 models are running out. Only 5 were built, 2 of which have already been ordered.
4.Ā SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 seconds
This ultra high performance car is quite different from the other cars on the list for good reasons. As a brain child of Jerod Shelby, it runs on a Twin Turbo V8 1183 HP Engine and can be owned for a base price of $650, 000. Recently modifications were made to the car, most notably the 20% increase in engine airflow and the new AeroBrake system with spoilers. With the appropriate transmission gear ratios, the car could reach a speed of 273 mph.
The car itself features butterfly doors (similar to McLaren F1 and Enzo Ferari) and carbon fiber and titanium. Carbon fibre and titanium are used to help limit the weight of the car. Well done for Americans!
5. Pagani Zonda R: 220 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 seconds
This car sells in the U.K. for 1.3 million pounds and is powered by a V12 engine at 750 hp. It is quite different from the Zonda F, carrying only 10% of the latterās specs. The car was first introduced into the market in 2007 and is known as the car that never dies.
Deserving to be on the list, it is significant as it is the worldās first carbon titanium chassis.
6.Gumpert Apollo: 220 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 seconds
Ā This super car is produced by a German automaker in Altenburg. It is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive two-seater constructed on a tubular chromoly frame, with fiberglass or optional carbon fiber body panels. There are 3 engine types available with the race version rated at 789.06 bhp. The production of the Apollo started in October 2005 with a starting price of $400,000 USD.
7. Koenigsegg Agera R: 275 mph+, 0-60 in 2.9 seconds
This Sweden-made mid-engine supercar is powered by 5.0L V8 engine with 1,115 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque at 4,1000 rpm. Koennigsegg is known to make some of the fastest supercars in the world. This car made its debut in March of 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The carās power is funneled through a seven speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle āshifters and an electronic differential. It uses a unique carbon monocoque chassis which has a stuffiness of 65.000 Nm/deg and weighs 70 kg.
It is truly made to be functional with no added features except for those added to meet regulations, safety and ergonomics.
8.Ā Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds
This super-fast car is powered by a 100% aluminum V8 engine and is packed with a 750 horsepower. This twin-turbocharged monster went on sale for $585,296 USD in 2005, replacing standard non turbo S7 production. Saleen offers an optional competitive package with a 33% increase in power.
The car is a limited production, hand-made and with high performance. It is most significant on the market for its aluminum and carbon fiber material which makes it weigh less.
9.McLaren F1: 240 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds
It is power-driven by powerhouse V12 engine that packs 618 horsepower. It is popular with its trademark doors that resemble bat wings. Up until 1998, when McLaren produced and sold the standard F1 models, they had a price tag of around 970 000 USD. Today the cars can sell for up to nearly twice that of the original price.
10. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 211mph 0-60 in 3.3 seconds
The buyer of a super car like Murcielago canĀ really enjoy the Lamborghini V12 engine, a six-speed manual or if they desire, a six-speed sequential automatic transmission. The aerodynamics of this car is improved not only by the rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees, but also by the side mirrors that fold in when needed.
The LP640 model of Murcielago’s starting price is $350 000, which higher than the original that could be found for the price tag of $273,000. But the differences between them are not just in the price, because the Murcielago LP640 can reach 60 mph in just 3.3 s, which is .5 sec faster that the original, telling us that the LP640 has a bigger power: 471 kW (640 bhp) at 8000 rpm compared with 433 kW (580 bhp) at 7500 rpm of the first Murcielago.
The Murcielago is definitely a powerful super car that got its deserving name from the bull that survived 24 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba and his life was spared by the matador giving him a rare honor.

The new Nissan GTR is the fastest car in my books. For the price and reliability you cannot go wrong with it.
Koeniggsegg announces at the Geneva Motor Show a new concept called the Quant. It is a four seater super car. with carbon fiber used extensively making the car lighter then it would’ve been. It is assumed that the Quant has a 1018 hp (759kW) engine running on E85 biofuel. Koenigsegg also has developed a new double-clutch transmission. The dashboard features a new multimedia system with a touch screen from which one can access things like the iPod or fidget with the Bluetooth connection.
SSC Ultimate Aero TT seems much lighter than a Veyron and extra 182 hp helping to claim its top production’s car speed.

Not that I think the XJ220 is so great (the le mans race version looked better)…and my personal favorite street car is the Porsche 911 GT3, or at least it will be whenever they decide to give it the horsepower it was supposed to have when it went up to 3.8 liters this year, rather than only adding an extra 20hp. It doesn’t have the DSG tranny yet, and it’s a shame, as nice as the DSG is, that it has to be 90 pounds heavier than the standard manual. How much heavier is Ferrari’s double clutch transmission, over their standard manual, does anyone know? Bottom line, the GT3 may not be perfect, and it isn’t a “supercar”…but who else makes a normally aspirated 6 cylinder factory spec car under 4 liters that goes over 190 mph? Who else could? Nobody, that’s who.
Some other thoughts:
The Ultimate Aero is ugly (and not in production?), and the Enzo has always looked strange but is saved by its paintjob, engineering, pedigree, build quality, engine, etc…lol.
The Saleen looks good from some angles but is just too long with too much rear overhang. Compared to the Ultimate Aero its angellic…lol. At least the focus is on sports cars and sports car racing, with the Saleen.
My favorite street car for styling only, is the Alfa 8C, at least from some angles…the side view looks odd, with the minimal overhang.
It’s a shame the Porsche Panamera doesn’t look more like a Fisker Karma.
The Nissan GT-R is an engineering marvel, no doubt, but it has had transmission failures with (likely young stupid) people using the launch control. And it is definitely ugly and utilitarian…kinda looks like a squared off giant squid with the hideous round tail lights. The styling is just kinda thrown together and bland, as if drawn by 15 yr old kids. It’s also way too heavy at almost 2 tons (as are many of these cars). But then if the GT-R was down at only 3300 lbs, the Germans would never have a prayer of beating it around the Nurburgring…as it stands now, I see them beating it soon, but it might take a tuner to beat the GT-R Spec V, if that happens at all.
If I had my way and was in control, I would produce a 911 GT3 that would beat any Nissan around the Nurburgring by at least a second…and just forget about trying to do it with the 911 Turbo.

Carl_from_TN is clearly ignorant and therefore his 400 word (or there abouts) ‘essay’ is invalid. Tvr have made various cars that cost about a fifth of the GT3, all naturally aspirated 6’s and in some cases much faster, the Typhoon making 60mph in under 3.5 seconds the tuscan and segaris coming in at 3.7 seconds while the GT3 lags behind with 4.1 so in answer to your question: Tvr that’s who.
Here’s one for you, who makes a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder factory spec car under 4 liters that reaches 60 mph in less then 4 seconds? Tvr. That’s who. Who else could? Nobody.

One minor editing point. #2 says “easily the highest priced car in the top 10 list.” But there are several other cars with higher price tags and others within a few 100K (300K and 800K are in the same ballpark for me at this point) mentioned in this same artice. You might want to revise that paragraph.
the ssc is not the fastest. the bugatti veyron super sport is the fastest because it can go 260mph or faster. It was tested by Top Gear presenter James May.

first of all, none of you have ever even seen any of these cars you are touting as the fastest, nor do you even know anyone that has one. all are over rated, mythical made up performance. one of the mags last year had a competition with all top cars involved, and the good old chevrolet corvette out performs them all. some of those exotic imports claiming 256 mph, bull shit. you people stop claiming to know something about any of those cars, because like i said earlier, you dont know anyone that has one and never will

the best car in the list is the mclaren F1 it was made in ’93 and is still the 5th fastest car ever and it does 240mph but it produces the least horsepower out of the list and around a track the fastest by a mile because they made it for racing rather than top speed.

For all of you who still believe your ugly SSC Ultimate Aero is the best you are wrong for one reason, the THEORETICAL top speed is 270+, but they have never tested it that far where the Bugatti has hit speeds such as that OFFICIALLY. But SSC has made something new which in my personal belief will beat the Bugatti SS but that will have to wait until it actually goes into the production if you want to know the name it is the SSC Tuatara a twin turbo lightweight supercar with 1350+ Horsepower, i would like to see what tested speeds it will ring up.
Where’s the Agera R? Where’s the CTR3? Where’s the Zonda Cinque? Where’s the RT12?
