Justin Bieber was presented with one of these beauties for his 18th birthday on the Ellen DeGeneres show. The car operates in two modes: stealth mode, with a top speed of 95 mph and a 50 mile range, and sport mode, which uses the top speed up to 125 mph and the range to 250 miles. Definitely an awesome 18th birthday gift.

2. Nissan Motivity 400C

This vehicle represents how designers at Nissan envision the future of automaking and I must say they see it quite interesting, to say the least. Motivity 400C is a vehicle that boasts a wide range of incredible functional features. It takes advantage of maglev’s engine system that adds more power to the car and every tire allows the driver to control the vehicle with ease. Having a triangular shape the vehicle considerably reduces air resistance when driving at great speeds and increases the car’s acceleration, thus saving a lot of power. A wonderful concept from a great carmaker.

3. Bugatti 57 Atlantic

This is an incredible concept that was designed to focus on both the outside of the car and its performance. The design is credited to the French Designer Bruno Delussu. The front of the vehicle reminds us of Jaguar, but the rest is something car enthusiasts never seen before. The two-seater car surely looks very beautiful, but it is less likely to be developed in the near future. The concept looks so futuristic that there are two possible scenarios: whether it will still remain a concept or it will be produced in the next century. The designer gave us a hint- as long as we can imagine, he can create and design whatever he wants.

4. Terrena

This model was designed to be able to pass through different types of terrain found in America. Terrene features a unique tire mechanism that is able to adapt the dimensions of the vehicle to a variety of terrain types, which makes it possible for the user to drive safely in various conditions. The reduced height of the vehicle along with a large wheel diameter improves Terrena’s functionality. The car also boasts integrated sensors that signal the driver about road conditions. In case the sensors identify a good road condition the vehicle’s wheels become wide and Terrena decreases its height to become more stable, allowing you to control it easier at high speed. In addition, this futuristic concept is covered with flexible materials that have an interesting and useful feature – they “absorb” any deformations that occur as a result of impact with different objects.

5. BMV i8

February’s extremely cold weather was a blessing in disguise for EV fans, who got a  sneak peak at the i8 concept car test driving in the snow. The BMW i8 bring 349 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque to bear on the road, taking the vehicle from 0-62 mph in just under five seconds seconds and shooting forward at a max of 155 mph. The all-electric driving range is about 20 miles, and the ideal fuel efficiency is around 94 mpg.

Any vehicle cannot work without engine and it is quite important to have a tough, efficiently working engine which creates minimal problems. A worn out or problematic engine may justify replacement only if the other parts of the vehicle are in excellent condition, with the vehicle having partial or fully covered insurance within warranty period. Hence instead of buying an expensive engine for an old car, a better idea would be to buy a new car.

1. 2013 Volkswagen Jetta

Given the fact that is consumes 30 mpg in the city and 42 on the highway, the clear winner of this top cannot be other than the 2013 VW Jetta. However, the reason we placed Jetta in the top position also comes from its impressive power and features. To summarize, the 2.0l 140hp engine is a reliable intercooled turbo style that can support a 6-speed manual transmission, 4-wheel ABS and an efficient overdrive system. Add the fact that you can select between 42 trims options and that it costs around $27,000 and you can understand why it received this rating.

2. 2014 Chevrolet Cruze

In spite of the fact that the Chevrolet Cruze has a better fuel consumption rating, 28 mpg in the city and 42 on the highway and theoretically at least, it deserves first prize in this top list, the truth is that the Chevrolet’s claims cannot be confirmed or infirmed until summer 2013. Nonetheless, the info released by the automaker so far sounds pretty good: the Cruze will pack a 2.0 turbocharged clean diesel engine able to boast 148 hp and 258 lbs of torque.

3. 2013 Volkswagen Passat

Volkswagen wasn’t joking when they stated that they are preparing to build the most fuel efficient car in the world and both the Jetta and Passat 2013 models stand proof of that. And, the truth is that the differences between the two are not really that noticeable, meaning that Passat consumes an additional gallon compared to Jetta. Considering that Jetta’s design is smaller and that it features a magnificent instrument panel, the one gallon difference could be justified.

4. 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid

Similar to most of the hybrid models in the Honda fleet, the Civil has underwent some serious revamping and is ready, at least according to the manufacturer, to hit the markets this year. Both Honda Civics scheduled to be released have the advantage of the fuel economy rating, which is confirmed to 44 mpg for city, highway and combined driving. Will the new interior leather option and substantial exterior improvements determine drivers to overlook the fact that the vehicle cannot operate at low speeds on battery power alone? Only time will tell.

5. 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid

Even though the Lincoln MKZ has a design similar to the 2.0l 141 hp engine on the Ford Fusion, its advantage resides in the incredible gas consumption, which the EPA ratings confirm at 45 mpg for both the city and the highway. In all honestly, the $1 billion investment Ford made to revamp the moniker and naturally, restore the Lincoln name to its former glory, hasn’t really paid off given the enthusiasm the MKZ received so far. Sadly enough, most fans and experts have seen the action as do or die and since Ford managed to sell more than half a million of the F series and only 85,000 Lincolns, things are not looking good for the latter.

When you buy a new car it’s hard to know what the drive is like, other than taking it for a short test drive before you commit to the purchase. You can read up on the specifications of the vehicle, but you don’t really know until you have driven it for a while how it performs.

So here is a list of the slowest cars on the market, so do your best to avoid them if you are looking for something punchy that will get you to your destination as quickly as possible.

1. 2009 Tata Nano   0-60: 29.4 sec

Only a camel is cheaper than this car.

The Tata Nana was designed to be the world’s cheapest car, so should it matter whether the Tata Nano is the slowest car in the world? After all, the base models start in India at $2,200 including taxes and fees — less than half of the sticker price of the least expensive new cars in North America consumers buy.

From behind the wheel of a bright-yellow model at Tata Motors’ engineering and testing center in a suburb of Pune, an industrial city some 60 miles southeast of Mumbai, the Nano proved lively and fun to push around the track. The rear wheels could even be twisted into a sports car-style slide. WOW!

But customers who consider buying should really avoid this bare minimum model, which has no air-conditioning, power brakes and even map pockets in the doors. But with cost containment being a big factor in its development, the absence of safety features cannot be overlooked – there are no air bakes and antilock brakes.

India would be better without this car for the time being.

2. 1950 Crosley Hot Shot 0-60: 26.3 sec.

If I told you there was a small, light American sports car built from 1949-1952 that won the Index of Performance at the 12 Hours of Sebring, you probably would think it was fast. The 26 horsepower, four-cylinder Crosley Hot Shot, aiming to be an affordable, fun sports car, was anything but fast. It tops out at 74 mph. It takes longer to get to 60 than it takes to run a quarter mile. A standard Ford V8 would get to 60 ten seconds before the Hot Shot.

For all of you out there who might lust after a Caterham or any other lightweight trackday special, you should know that the Crosley was so bare-bones, so lightweight (1,175lbs), that it didn’t actually come with doors as standard.

3. 1968 Fiat 850 Idromatic   0-60: 25.4 sec

During the 1960s, the Fiat 750 Spider was considered both a luxury and a performance vehicle because of its convertible top cover and an 843cc engine that can pull up speeds with 49hp, making it achieve max speed of 145 km/h, a rate that is already amazing at the time of conception. Despite this, it can be frustrating to know that this spider can go from 0 to 60 in 25.4 seconds and can run a quarter mile after only 23 seconds.

4. 1974 Datsun B210 Coupe   0-60L 22.5  sec

There’s a few once-ubiquitous 80s Japanese econobox out there. The little fastback B210 was once everywhere and now is one of the hardest cars to find out there. But do not go looking for trouble, because this car is not worth the money.

The four-speed B210 was popular, but can you imagine the agony of trying to accelerate with half the power being soaked up by an automatic transmission. You’re better off without it.

Still, these things were reasonably reliable (by the very lax standards of the era), sipped gas through a cocktail straw, and looked pretty good 4 decades ago, but now there are better options for you.

5. 1979 Volkswagen Rabbit (Diesel)   0-60: 21.2  sec

Not many econoboxes came with factory fuel injection in 1979. This diesel Rabbit was more fun to drive than most of its Malaise Era Japanese and Detroit cars out there, but still intolerably slow by today’s standards. Fuel economy was great, though, but not worth the money to buy these days.

1. Kate Middleton’s VW Golf

Two days after going up for auction in a world supposedly hungry for Kate Middleton memorabilia, the new Duchess of Cambridge’s old car is yet to attract a single bid on eBay.

The blue Volkswagen Golf used by Kate and her then royal boyfriend during their days as students at St Andrews University is being sold by the current owner, Sonny Brazil.

Despite being bought for just £10,818 in Edinburgh in 2001, Sonny Brazil has placed a reserve of £20,000 on the royal runaround because of its history and its importance now.

The car has barely been used since it was sold by the Middleton family. A pair of sterling silver cufflinks are also due to be sold with the vehicle, and would fetch more than £30,000.

The final price shall still be determined.

2. 1959 Ferari 250 GT California

A gorgeous and in mint condition 1959 Ferrari GT sold on Ebay.com for $3.26 million. The car, with 52,000 miles on its odometer, was listed by its owner in Pittsburgh, Pa., and sold after 86 bids on eBay. The car’s official designation is a Ferrari California Spyder 250 GT CS. It has a 12 cylinder engine, manual transmission and a cloth convertible top.

Designed for export to America, the California Spyder was Ferrari’s interpretation of an open-top Gran Turismo Car. The concept was driven by California enthusiasts and a leading Ferrari dealer who prevailed on the Italian company to create a sports car for Californians who regularly drive with the top down.

3. Dusenberg SJ Speedster

1933 Duesenberg SJ Speedster is one of those cars which only comes around once a decade. Selling for a hefty price of $2.6 million on eBay, it goes down as the second most expensive classic car ever sold on the site, and easily one of the most justified.

Only 36 of these cars were ever produced, and all of them were given a supercharger and 320bhp – which, in 1933, would have been terrifying.

4. 2008 Lamborghini Revention

A Lamborghini Reventon, one of the most exclusive cars ever made, ended up on eBay and ended with ‘Buy it Now.’ Of the 20 units made worldwide, only 10 ended up in the U.S. selling for $1.5 million. Well owner of Reventon number 3 decided to sell his exclusiveness with only 73 miles on the odometer for his own personal reasons. Now whether those personal reasons include gas-prices or that he couldn’t afford to maintain the car is unclear.
The Reventon sold very quickly on eBay with a ‘Buy it Now’ price of a heart-stopping $2.5 million.

5. Maserati MC12 

A Maserati MC12 was recently listed on eBay. Only 25 were made in 2005 and just 7 were federalized for use in USA, one of which is this blue-and-white gem you see above. Similar to its brother, the Ferrari Enzo, the MC12 shares not only the Ferrari 6.0-liter V12, but the same price as well.

The current bid for this particular example is over $1,205,100. Originally owned by a collector in Florida, it went up for sale by Lamborghini of Las Vegas and only has 521 virgin miles on her.

3. Ferrari 250 GTO

No sports cars in the world have quite the allure of the 39 Ferrari 250 GTOs built between 1962 and 1964, and their power, beauty and racing history have made them the most expensive collector vehicles on Earth. To their credit, many 250 GTO owners regularly drive them in public — and last week, the one pictured above, worth about $30 million, was hit in what ranks as the world’s most expensive car crash.

Owned by American investor Christopher Cox and his wife Ann, this 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO had been raced around the world by a Swedish driver in the early ’60s — hence the blue-and-yellow color scheme rather than the traditional Ferrari red. Last week, during a gathering in central France to mark the 50th anniversary of the 250 GTO, another car collided with the Coxes. Ann Cox suffered a broken leg and other injuries, while Christopher Cox had only minor scrapes; both were treated and released from a French hospital.

According to people who’ve seen photos from the crash, the entire front end of the 250 GTO and its 300-hp V-12 was wrecked. It’s not the first time this particular GTO has been crashed (it was damaged in 1976 and then restored) but it’s a reminder that despite its value, the 250 GTO’s tubular steel frame and aluminum body crumple easily compared to the rigid frames of modern vehicles. A similar Ferrari 250 GTO built for racer Stirling Moss sold in May for $35 million in a private auction, making it the most expensive vehicle ever to change hands.

4. Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron is the most expensive production car in history. Only 300 were ever produced, and already two have crashed. Above all, this crash made news when the driver thought it was okay to speed at 100 mph in the rain. He only had the car for one week.

In 2009, a Bugatti Veyron was crashed into a Texas lagoon at the hands of Andy House, who at one point said that a low flying pelican had distracted him and sent him off course. What he didn’t know was that the whole thing was caught on film, and the pelican was suspiciously absent.

His insurance company decided that he just wanted a $2 million check and sued for fraud, but now the trial has been mysteriously postponed. Here’s everything we know about the case until today. The crash cost $1.6 million in damages.

The repair bill for Rowan Atkinson’s McLaren F1 has been revealed and it’s more than three times bigger compared to the previous most expensive bill.

The famous Mr. Bean actor crashed his McLaren F1 in August 2011, while driving on the A605, when he lost control of the super car on a slippery patch near Peterborough. Atkinson suffered a shoulder injury, while the car was seriously damaged. Mechanics needed no less than four weeks to calculate repair costs.

The whole repair job cost a whopping 910,000 GBP and was done in approximately one year. Atkinson is now driving his beloved F1 once again, an experience which he characterized like “putting a family sweater on. But cost him $1.25 million U.S.

It’s never too early to see what’s under the hood for the top 10 car makers of the world. Because of the peculiarities of the industry, some 2014 models have already been shown at auto shows like Paris and Frankfurt or pictures have been released in advance to stir the pot some more.

1. 2014 Audi RS4 Avant

RS is the best of its kind when it comes Audi cars. The previous RS4 ranks high – very high on almost everyone’s car wish list or at least those who can afford it. This one will kill with an expected minimum of 450 hp.

Power for the model is expected to be a 4.2-liter V8 engine that generates around 450 PS (331 kW / 444 hp) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It will be  coupled with Audi’s Seven-speed S tronic transmission and the company’s  best Quattro all-wheel-drive system. We also expect upgraded high performance shocks & struts. It should enable the RS4 Avant to accelerate from 0-100kph (0-62mph) in just under 5 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250kph).

As Audi keeps producing more of its RS line into U.S. showrooms, exchange rates are continuing to improve and emissions regulations approach parity with Europe, meaning the RS3 is a possibility. The TT and RS5 models are due late this year and sometime after that, possibly in the 2013 calendar year as a 2014 model, the RS4 is expected to arrive. We believe that the introduction of the RS5 will be a solid indication of the performance levels to expect from the RS4. Audi knows that competition is stiff for the RS5 and its production has taken longer than usual for a company with a long history of creating performance sedans and coupes.

Luxury auto lovers are debating over the Italian luxury car maker’s latest incarnation, which will arrive at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2013. Car lovers are more excited than ever before about the F1-derived KERS hybrid system paired with a V12 engine, which Ferrari has never done before. Renderings and spy video of the mystery car, the car has a sleek, very low-to-the-ground body that is without a doubt designed with aerodynamics in mind.

Information is limited, but here’s what is known so far. Unlike the F12berlinetta, the design of the new Enzo—internally designated the F70— will not be a collaborative effort with Pininfarina, but will be an internal affair instead. A V-12 will likely be the engine of choice, combined with a KERS hybrid system with all-wheel-drive traction.

3. 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish

This new 5.9 liter V-12 sits lower and lighter, blending much more power (565 hp, 457 lb-ft) than any old mill’s 510 hp, while still claiming greater fuel efficiency, thanks in part to the incorporation of variable valve timing. Connecting the power plant to the 6-speed automated manual rear transaxle is a carbon fiber prop shaft surrounded by an alloy torque tube. Aston claims that 60 mph will arrive in 4.1 seconds, and that the Vanquish tops out at 183 mph.

Inside the car, there is a brand new interior, which reveals One-77-inspired stitch patterns and details like a haptic touch surface on the center stack. The cockpit has been expanded for less of a cocooning effect, while the “boot” offers 60 percent more space.

So all you have to do is open the upwardly tilting “swan” doors and go inside where you will be comforted by the pleasant leather interior. You can snuggle up to the imaginatively sculpted leather seats—some of which are available with teardrop-style quilted patterns. Oh, we cannot forget that Vanquish  always offers  Aston’s typically operatic sense of occasion, right down to the glass-capped key fob that slides into the dash and starts the big V-12 engine.

4.  2014 C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The 2014 Corvette Stingray is designed to withstand convention. It is made to dismiss the ritualistic and the clichés. Created to oppose the expected, eliminate the empty traditions and discover the undiscovered. Two functional parts are all that remain of the past. Purpose alone is sacred.

The machine is totally new. But some already known  cues  are reappearing. Distinct aeronautical lines. A flowing, aerodynamic exterior. A thin fastback finish. For the first time in decades, a stunning machine emerges with the aesthetic impact and the performance prowess worthy of the Stingray emblem.

This is the most ambitious 3000-pound weight target coming out on the market, C7 is constructed like an aircraft. The three-rail space frame GM patented for C5 continues with greater and better improvements. The hydroformed-aluminum main members developed for Z06 and ZR1 are now standard across all C7s, an upgrade enabled by transferring frame manufacturing from an outside supplier to the Corvette’s Bowling Green assembly plant. Carbon-fiber (CF) floor and bulkhead panels adhesively bonded between the central backbone and the perimeter rails augment structural stiffness. We also expect CF to replace all the sheet-molded fiberglass exterior panels. A single-piece lift-off roof—a Corvette feature since 1984—remains standard on the coupe.

5. 2014 BMW i3

This model is unlike any other BMW car you’ve ever seen before, the compact hatchback i3 is made of lightweight material and with super-strong carbon fiber — the same stuff used in the fuselage of the 787 Dreamliner. More importantly, the i3 is BMW’s first all-electric car. Its range is said to be around 100 miles, and anxious drivers can add a small motorcycle-like gasoline engine that extends the EV to 190 miles. The i3 is expected to go on sale late in 2013 for about $45,000 and there are limited cars.  Production versions will have doors that are solid and not transparent below the belt line.

1. The Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing (1955)

The Mercedes Benz 300SL, also affectionately known as the “Gullwing”was the first “Sport Leicht”model which is a trend within Mercedes that is still alive today. Max Hoffman, an american importer, claimed to sense an market for stylish cars emerging amongst the rich and famous after the second world war. Under the hood it was based on the early racing models of the fifties being the first production car that used direct fuel injection. Its tubular frame made the Mercedes Benz Gullwing extra rigid which was crucial for control when driving at high speeds. It was these same tubes that meant the design of the doors had to open upwards instead of outwards. This then became the main signature feature of this classic motor.

2. The Blitzen-Benz (1909)

The Blitzen-Benz, also known as “Lightning-Benz”by Mercedes was a 200hp thunderbolt of a vehicle that signified the the start of the 20th century in style. The Blitzen-Benz was designed to break records. In 1909 it became the first car ever to break the 200km/h mark and then went on to hold the land speed record of 141.7mph for eight years from 1911 to 1919.

3. The Mercedes Benz C111 (1969)

In 1969 Mercedes introduced a rather unusual vehicle to the public. An experimental model by Mercedes the C111 was created to test the most innovative technologies of the time such as diesel engines and air conditioning. Its extreme “sliver”shape gave it a futuristic feel while brightly painted colours (usually yellow) covered a fibreglass body that was reinforced with plastic. The Mercedes C111’s reported top speed was 180mph.

4. The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG (2010)

First produced in 2010 the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG was described by Mercedes as the “Spiritual Successor”of the 300 SL Gullwing. The Mercedes SLS AMG is a perfect mixture of sophisticated open top driving combined with absolutely outstanding driving dynamics and a blistering top speed of 197mph. Developed by Mercedes AMG as a luxury grand tourer vehicle the SLS AMG is manufactured with Dodge Viper body panels fitted over an aluminium chassis that was developed by Dodge SRT (Street Racing Technology).

5. The Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman (1963)

In 1963, after seven years in development, we were given the Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman. Also known as the “Grand Mercedes” The engineers and design team at Mercedes were told not to worry about time or cost for the project but to create the most luxurious and best car in the world. Filled with innovation, a one-of-kind hydraulic suspension system that operates almost everything within the car. It was also the first Mercedes to ever be built in an “armoured”version as it was sold to governments worldwide. It also boasts the loudest horn ever manufactured on a production vehicle.
