Over the years mobile phones have become more of a device that one cannot do without. Gone are the days when mobile phones were basically items for making calls and receiving calls and sending and receiving short text messages. Presently, mobile have phones have the capability to access the web, listen to music, watch video, capture images and send and receive multimedia files.
As such, mobile phones have turned into an integral part of an individual’s life. Whereas, they were initially regarded as objects of luxury they are now a necessity. No one can survive without one. Illustrated herein are some of the most shipped mobile phones in the world.
1. Nokia 1100:
The Nokia 1100 to date has shipped over 250 million units to different parts of the world. A majority of cell phone users prefer the cell phone given its simplicity. It is a GSM enabled phone and can be used anywhere that has a mobile phone coverage. The Model was launched by the company towards the last quarter of the year 2003. In addition, Nokia 1100 has been rated as the best selling consumer electronic product. In developing nations, the phone is a top seller.
2. Nokia 3210:
Apparently the second best selling phone in the world today is a brand still from Nokia. So far 160 million units have been shipped by the company since its release in 1999. It has been a success and has not disappointed its users. The design was meant to target the younger generation in the market.
3. Motorola RAZR V3:
Motorola managed to bring class, style and taste to the mobile industry by releasing a sleek mobile phone that was targeted to the middle level income earners. Despite the revolution in mobile phone industry, the Motorola RAZR still remains one of the most favorite mobile phones amongst users. To date, the brand has sold over 130 million units. The brand was part of mobile brands that incorporated camera which was launched back in the year 2004. Motorola RAZR has been graded as the number 12 in “The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years”
4. Nokia 3310:
Nokia 3310 is another brand from Nokia that is widespread amongst a majority of mobile phone users. The brand has so far sold 126 million units plus. Nokia 3310 is a Dual band GSM mobile phone. To date, it is still the 4th best selling mobile phone in the whole universe. Nokia 3310 was an upgrade of the Nokia 3210. Even though better cell phones have since been released, Nokia 3310 still remains one of the most favorable phones to have.
5. iPhone 3GS:
iPhone from Apple revolutionized the world of mobile telephony as we know it. As a smart phone, iPhone 3GS has more and better capabilities than the previously mentioned phones. Of all the iPhone models that have since been released, the 3GS still remains the best selling unit from Apple having shipped 30 million plus units. The iPhone 3GS was released by the Apple company as a 3rd generation cell phone. It is designed with a high resolution camera, high performance and a load of other features.

The largest producer of automobiles in the world is the European Union. Therefore, the key to Europe’s affluence is the automotive industry. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and exports of Europe are strengthened by the automotive industry. Due to this the car sales in Europe have always topped the lists around the world. The top best-selling cars of Europe are given in the list below.
1. Volkswagen Golf
The favorite car of Europe is the Volkswagen Golf. The Golf was first introduced in 1974 and has been a favorite of the Europeans since then. It is a small car fit for a family and is also known by the name of Volkswagen Rabbit. It is of the Volkswagen Group A Platform series. According to statistics 492,556 Golf were sold in Europe in 2010 although the sales show a dip of 13.7% from 2009. Golf topped the German automobile industry in 2010.
2. Ford Fiesta
Second on the list of top 10 best-selling cars in Europe is the subcompact, front wheel drive by Ford Motor Company, Ford Fiesta. Launched in 1976, the Ford Fiesta is in its sixth generation. The car market of the United Kingdom was topped by Ford Fiesta. 402,207 Ford Fiestas were sold in Europe in 2010. 14.8% decline in sales was experienced in 2010 from 2009.
3. Volkswagen Polo
Volkswagen started the production of polo in 1975. It is a supermini car and comes in hatchback, coupe, estate and saloon varieties. In 2010, more than 45,000 cars were sold in the United Kingdom setting a record as never sans last year did Polos manage to get into the list of top ten best selling cars in the United Kingdom. In 2010, Europe sold 354,068 Polos with a tremendous increase in sales by 25.1% from 2009.
4. Renault Clio
This is yet another supermini car by Renault, the French automobile manufacturers. The 2010 third generation Clio was launched in 1990. The sales of Clio have substantially been consistent since its launch. The only car to be awarded the Car of the Year twice, that is, in 1991 and 2006 is also called Renault Lutecia. In 2010 Renault sold 338,245 Clios with a small increase in sales from 2009, that is, 8%.
5. Opel Corsa
Since 1982, German manufacturer Opel has been manufacturing the Opel Corsa. It falls under the supermini category and is also known as Chevrolet Chevy, Vauxhall Nova and Holden Barina. The sales of this car have been disturbed by the question of the company’s future. 317,950 Corsas have been sold in Europe by Opel showing a decline of 9.6% from 2009.

Asian regions have had an unprecedented growth. Japanese foreign direct investment is the main driving force of the automotive industry in Asia. The major automobile exporter in Asia is Thailand. The developing countries of Asia also greatly contribute to the Asian automotive industry.
Following is a list of the Top 10 best selling cars in Asia depending on their overall performance and popularity.
1. Toyota Corolla
This is a car from the Japanese manufacturer Toyota, which is in existence from 1966. The line of subcompact Toyota Corollas came into existence from 1966 to 1987. The line of compact Toyota Corollas has been in existence since 1988. On an average one Toyota Corolla is sold every 40 seconds. There have been about 10 models introduced of the car. Toyota Corolla succeeded Toyota Publica. In Latin Corolla is known as a small crown.
2. Honda Civic
Yet another car from a Japanese manufacturer Honda, the Civic was introduced in July 1972. It was launched as a two-door coupe and the coupe was succeeded by a three-door hatchback. The subcompact Civic was present from 1973 to 2000. The compact Civic has been present since 2001 till date. The predecessors of the Honda Civic are Honda N360 and Honda Z600. It has been prevalent in street, drag, grassroots and touring car racing.
3. Honda Accord
Honda 300 was succeeded by Honda Accord. In Japan the compact car has been present from 1975 to 1989 and the mid-size car has been present from 1990 till date. This car is sold in maximum car markets in the world than any other car. The first ever Japanese car manufactured in the United States is the Honda Accord. Various versions and body styles have been introduced by Honda of the Accord. The debut model was the compact hatchback, and following it were the wagon, sedan and coupe.

Mystery books have always held a fascination for the reading public. They fall into many sub-categories such as murder, legal, police procedural and many others. But wherever there is a question of whodunit and good story behind it, you can be sure that the book will be devoured by the mystery book fans.
Here is a list of the best-selling mystery writers of all times. You may not feel that they are the best writers, but their popularity is unmistakable and for some, even posthumously their books continue to entice readers.
1. Georges Simenon:
The creator of Inspector Maigret was a prolific writer and wrote over 500 books. He is considered to be the forerunner of the police detective genre of books. His books followed the simple formula of murder, investigations, clues and the arrest of the murderer. Simply written and set in Paris, the books have remained ever popular, even 80 years after the first book was published.
2. Agatha Christie:
The Guiness Book of Records lists her as the bestselling book writer of all times, with over four billion copies of her books having been published worldwide. Her mystery novels were never too long,. The stories were superb and the characterization of her detectives such Hercules Poirot and Miss Marple was very well done. She wrote about 80 detective novels, and some plays and also some romantic novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott.
3. Arthur Conan Doyle:
Sherlock Holmes’s deductive and reasoning abilities have astonished readers for many decades. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle gave us a series of mysteries which have enchanted and confounded us. He also wrote science fiction book, plays, poetry, non-fiction books and some historical novels, but he is best remembered for his series of books with Holmes as their central character, accompanied by Watson.
4. Ellery Queen:
The first book written by two friends under this pseudonym was released in 1934, and over eight decades later his books are still very popular. They have instituted a much coveted mystery writer’s award in his name. The books are excellent whodunit mysteries and they are very elegantly crafted and intellectually challenging.
5. Erle Stanley Gardner:
He sold over 100 million books, and his lawyer Perry mason became the bane of most practising lawyers in the US. Every litigant began to expect his lawyer to eventually solve all crimes and find the right killer. Clever legal systems, fast action and good mystery stories are what marked this prolific and best selling writer.

1. Toyota Corolla
This car has sold 32 million units till date and bags the number one spot on this list. The style is unbeatable, the price is affordable and it is reliable and trustworthy. According to statistics, the company sells this car every 40 seconds. Even though the design has changed consistently over the years, it has remained a favorite among the regulars.
2. Fiat Punto
The car was initially known as “Project 176” and was launched in 1994. It replaced the Fiat Uno and received a number of awards during 1995. It gained instant popularity due to its clean-cut look and gave companies like Volkswagen and Opel a run for their money.
3. VW Golf
This car replaced the above-mentioned Beetle and was also known as the “Rabbit”. The engineering is above-average, the price is low and the car is nothing if not dependable. It has sold 25 million units till date.
4. Volkswagen Beetle
This car is said to be a “People’s Car” and was funded by Hitler very aggressively. Production began in 1938 and ended in 1979. This car was very popular during the post-war period. It was durable, powerful and very comfortable. The Beetle sold 2.3 million units.
5. Ford Escort
The Ford Escort was introduced in 1967 and production was stopped in 2003. This “world car” was visually appealing and low-priced. The car gained immense popularity all over the world fairly fast. The sales were estimated at 20 million units.
