Food tampering is a crime that serves time. Throughout history, some of the dumbest criminals thought of getting away with it. When caught, they faced up to 20 years in jail.

Some of these cases are horrendous. Others are jaw dropping. Let’s take a look and see who made the list. Comment if you find a different one as interesting.

 

1. Marvin D. Washington Jr. :

Marvin Washington was a 19 year old employee at McDonald’s in Simpsonville. He was caught on camera in April of 2012, spitting into his customers’ tea. The customers came through the drive-thru ordering two sweetened teas. When they found the teas not sweetened, they came back to reorder. Again, the same issue ensued and they went home to add their own sweetener. Once opening, they found phlegm floating and called the police. Washington now faces up to 20 years in jail.

 

2. Alexander and Christine Clement:

In 2010, this couple did the oddest thing in order not to pay for their Jello pudding. This scheme involved them buying the pudding, replacing the contents with sand and salt mixed together. They would then return the box to get a refund. They continued to do so in 4 grocery stores until surveillance cameras caught them. They were charged with larceny and tampering with consumer products. Both were in their 60s.

 

3. Joseph Cartwell:

In 2009 a former Ohio deputy was accused of giving an inmate a bologna sandwich that was rubbed against another inmate’s genitals. The man was given a $500 fine plus court fees.

 

4. Calgary 2010:

11 cases in 9 stores were food tampering related in Calgary in 2010. Small shards of metal were found in products such as ground beef and oranges. Shoppers have become weary, being careful about what they buy. This, however, changed little about consumer habits. A group of copycats were responsible for this commotion.

 

5. Tatyana Granada:

Granada was arrested on 4 separate incidents of food tampering in Oakridge Co-op in early 2010. Needles and pins were inserted into fresh food items. She was also charged for trespassing after she was banned from the co-op store after shoplifting. Her lawyer argued that Granada did not understand her ban as it was not written in Russian, her native language. She was still found guilty.

2. Eija Berlin-Mauer:

This is one feisty 54 year old woman. She fell in love with the Berlin Wall over 3 decades ago. She collected pictures and saved up money for her visits. During her 6th visit, she actually got married to the wall. She finds the wall more attractive than the Great Wall of China, until now. She cheated on the wall with a Garden fence.

 

3. Amy Wolfe:

She is an organist in a US church. She has made claim to OS which makes her attracted to inanimate objects. In 2009, she married a magic carpet amusement ride. She even changed her name to Weber, after the company that manufactured the ride.

 

4. Freddie Mercury:

Much of the life of this lead singer of Queen was a mystery. There are now speculations that Mercury was a person with OS. He had an unbreakable love for his bike.

 

5. Sandy K:

Tragedy struck on September 11, 2001 for this young woman. She had an infatuation for the Twin Towers. Tragically the towers were hit by terrorists. The only things Sandy has to cherish are the two models, she often clenches.

PDA or Public Display of Affection is the excessive showing of affection by humans. Kissing and hugging in many countries like India is considered just that; taboo. There are more extreme cases that shall be noted. Many of these cases are outrageous, absurd and shocking.

 

1. Opcozno, Poland:

A slide in a water park in Opcozno, Poland is now known as the tunnel of love. A camera system caught a couple having sex at the top of the water slide for approximately 5 minutes. After ‘doing it’ for 5 minutes, they slid down to the bottom. Security was waiting for them at the bottom and ejected them from the park.

 

2. Donald Thompson:

This man is an outrage to the judicial system. He showed too much affection about himself and not for his job. He used a pump to self-gratify himself while behind the bench. Shame on this guy! In 2006, he was sentenced to 4 years in jail for this behavior.

 

3. Toronto, Ontario:

A Toronto couple was coming home from a party drunk. They boarded a subway where they proceeded to show signs of PDA. When a rider pushed the emergency button to stop the subway, the couple let themselves off. At that point, they began showing their PDA on the platform. A witness taped the whole thing. Both were arrested.

 

4. Dayton View Academy:

A couple was caught having sex in Ohio on a school bus having sex. The students were grade 8 students. The student who witnessed the event kept silent until she got home. When she got home, she told the mother who called the school. The witness was punished for not saying anything.

 

5. Sweden:

A Swedish couple was caught having sex on a bus in southern Sweden in August of 2009. The bus was packed with 50 other passengers. Both were charged and forced off the bus by the driver.

Theft can be defined as an illegal taking of another person’s property. The crime is synonymous with embezzlement, robbery, looting, burglary and larceny. Here are just 10 fascinating cases where thieves done things that were out of the ordinary.

 

1. Stolen Lion Carcases:

Some people steal money, others steal valuables. 5 Ohio men stole dead lions once they heard that police were shooting them down. They proceeded to then lift the lion into their SUV and drove away. They now face 6 months in jail and $1000 fine.

 

2. Charlene Doell:

Doell was the financial administrator for Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists in Saskatoon, Canada. Instead of writing cheques to different parties as requested by employer, she wrote the cheques to herself. She scammed and stole $80,000 from her employee. Doell is most likely going to serve 8 months in jail.

 

3. Danwine Dewayne Renard:

Renard is a prisoner in Missouri. From his jail cell he was able to steal the identities of residents in Madison and St. Clair counties. He was also able to open accounts in their names. The theft scheme totalled $200,000. Renard was sentenced to 12 more years in jail.

 

4. Tina M. Jacobsen:

A woman from Neenah was charged on 3 felony counts of theft. She embezzled over $500,000 from the blood bank. She had used fraudulent expense reimbursements and drafted cheques to herself. I wonder why they called after $500,000 was missing?

 

5. Tomas Hvozdar:

This is a case of moral debate. Hvozdar has a dying step daughter at home. He is also distraught about losing his daughter. He stole the donation box totalling around $3,000 as a result. He wanted to use that money for food. Intentions were good, but did Hvozdar have to go through such extremes to get money?

1. Yoandri Hernandez Garrido:

Whilst most people have 10 fingers and 10 toes, Garrido has 12 fingers and 12 toes. He lives in Cuba and makes $20 a day. The extra fingers and toes are a blessing for him. Although his condition `polydactyly` is normal, having such even numbers are rare.

 

2. Lali:

Lali was born in India with 2 faces, 2 noses, 2 pairs of eyes and 1 pair of ears. The parents believed that she was God`s reincarnation. Lali did well the first month after her birth, but died after 2 months of living.

 

3. Paul Rodrigues:

This Mexican man had horns that were protruding at the back of his forehead. There were 3 horns in total and all had a curvature with a texture similar to that of a ram.

 

4. Chandre Oram:

Oram was born in West Bengal with a 13 inch tail. People widely believe that the tail is the answer and cure for many ailments. Interestingly enough, he was born on Ram Navami.

 

5. Andy Garcia:

This Cuban-American actor has one abnormality and oddity many people are not aware of. He had a body oddity where his twin was conjoined to his shoulder. The twin was the size of a baseball and was removed during infancy.

Top 10 Mysterious Murders In Recent Years

Most criminals are caught either because they were not careful enough or because the authorities were too smart. However, the following murders have not been solved till date.

 

1. The Seewen Murders

These murders took place in 1986 when five members of a particular family in Switzerland were killed. Even though the police suspects Carl Doser, no concrete evidence has been found as such. The gun shots were extremely accurate and most of the victims were shot through the head.

 

2. Bob Crane

Robert Crane was a part of the successful sitcom called Hogan’s Heroes. He was loved by the audience but they did not know that he had been battling with sex addiction for years. He was found dead in 1978 and even though a man named Carpenter was connected with the crime, the murder remains quite a mystery till date.

 

3. Dian Fossey

Dian Fossey dedicated her life to stop the practice of poaching in Africa because of which she became quite famous. She was killed in 1985 and was found with a machete stuffed into her skull. Even though the staff members at the research center were arrested, nobody was prosecuted.

 

4. Julie Ward

Julia Ward was an avid wildlife photographer and was found dead in Kenya in 1988. When her body was found, it was charred and was buried in the reserve.

 

5. Amber Hagerman

Amber Hagerman was 10 years old when she was kidnapped and murdered. Terapon Adhahn was arrested in 2007 but he was let go because nothing solid was found. There is nothing scarier than an unsolved murder but what is even more terrifying is the thought of a free serial killer who enjoys victimizing young children.

Child birth is always captivating but these ten cases are particularly amazing, and sometimes bizarre and paranormal! While some of them can be explained away with science, the rest will have your scratching your head for days.

 

1. Twins born from Separate Wombs

 

A woman from Michigan gave birth to twin girls, one from each of her wombs. The likelihood of this happening is 1 in 5 million. This irregularity is called Mullerian abnormality.


2. Different Colored Twins

It is not normal for mixed-race couples to have children that are ‘differently colored’ but there are certain cases every now and then which go beyond what is normal and ‘known’. Miya and Leah Durrant came into the world in 2008 looking alike but with differently colored skin and eyes. What’s more, the couple had given birth to a pair of twins in 2001 and they were different colored as well!

 

3. Rajo Devi

Rajo Devi gave birth to a baby in 2008, at aged 70, making her the oldest woman in the world to go through child birth. She was unable to conceive all through her life and was menopausal by the time she was 50.

 

4. Lina

If the oldest mother is 70 years old, the youngest mother, Lina, is 5 years old. She gave birth to her baby who grew up thinking that his mother was his sister and his grandmother, his mother. He lived a normal, healthy life and Lina had another child 33 years later.

 

5. James Elgin Gil

James Elgin Gil was born 4.5 months premature, but he managed to survive. He weighed 482 grams, which is why he was put into intensive care.

We may have a long list of the most celebrated cases of kidnapping in modern history. However, we shall be presenting in this article what we may consider as the top 10 most gruesome kidnapping and abuse. The intention of the article is not to horrify the readers but to create the level of awareness for such criminal acts.

1. John Jamelske

The criminal acts committed by John Jamelske, a convicted serial kidnapper and rapist, was the inspiration for the villainous character Jamie Gumm in the highly acclaimed suspense thriller Silence of the Lambs. His series of despicable acts were committed from 1988 up until his capture in 2003 where he abducted many women and held all of them in captivity inside a concrete bunker beneath his house in New York.

2. Fusako Sano

Fusako Sano was the Japanese woman who was a victim of kidnapping at age ten and endured untold sufferings from the hands of his kidnapper and captor, Nobuyuki Sato, for more than 9 years. Sano was already 19 years old when she was finally rescued although her long captivity and lack of contact with other people resulted to her regression in terms of behavioral and mental capacities.

3. Michael Devlin

Michael Devlin is serving a total of 74 life sentences for being a convicted child rapist. Devlin was held in custody and was later charged for the abduction of William Ownby in January 12, 2007. Immediately after the discovery of the abduction, authorities learned of another case of abduction committed by Devlin. The police investigators discovered that Devlin was also responsible for the disappearance and abduction of Shawn Hornbeck in October 06, 2002.

4. Natascha Kampusch

Natascha Kampush was the Austrian woman who was a victim of abduction while she was only 2 years old. She was held captive for over eight year until she was able to escape from her captor, later identified as Wolfgang Priklopil, in August 23, 2006.

5. Colleen Stan

Colleen Stan was a victim of kidnapping and sexual assault in 1977 in Red Bluff, California. Her assailant was later identified as Cameron Hooker and the crime was perpetrated with the help of Janice Hooker, Cameron’s wife. Colleen was sexually assaulted and brutally tortured by Cameron.
