Cheating in a relationship is one of the worst tragedies a man will ever face in life. 5. She started working more.
woman workingA classic sign of infidelity is when your girlfriend or wife starts working more–a lot more than she did before. Research shows that this suspicious change in work schedule can manifest itself in different ways: leaving the house earlier to go to work; coming home later than typically; or claiming to have many business dinners (a load of bologne). Take note:  do you see a pattern to these extra working hours? Even so, that may be a sign that something is wrong. Keep in mind that if the job is new or she has recently received a promotion, there is no need to immediately suspect that she is seeing someone else.

Top 10 Things Islam Prohibits Women From Doing

1 2

Prohibit can be defined as a command that formally forbids (something) by law, rule, or other authority. But why are we often forbidden from doing certain things? Why do we have to avoid doing certain things? Because they are look as not good for us, because they are not meant for us to have, and because we are not meant for it – some of the arguments. The person or authority who forbids us from doing a particular task always seems to have a valid reason,  and something or someone has given him/her the authority to act on your behalf.

The relationship between women and Islam is complex and is defined by both Islamic texts and the history and culture of the Muslim world. The Quran explicitly states that men and women are equal, but also says in 4:34 that “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to respect the other, and because they spend from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient and guard in the husband’s absence what Allah orders them to guard.” Although the Quran does say this, the superiority of men is interpreted in terms of strength by the context – men maintain power over women. This verse however refers to a relationship between a husband and wife, not as a society in whole. In general, women played much bigger role in Islam than most people many modern day rulers would imagine, there are examples of female warriors in the armies of Prophet Muhammad.

However, as we learned in Top 10 Fast Facts about Islam Worth Knowing, our modern interpretation of Islam is quite different and is not always correct. As such women are restricted from doing certain things and are prohibited from:

1. Going out with uncovered head

hijab

A Muslim woman is not allowed to go outside of her home with her head uncovered. Hijab can be translated into a clock or a coat which covers a woman’s body, including her head and her face. It’s not necessary that women wear a hijab, they just have to make sure that your clothing is decent enough and is not revealing any of your body part. Modern interpretations of the Qa’aran have now enforced women to wear a hijab in social circles as a way to protect them from the dirty stares of men and men who have dirty minds. It is believed that whenever men see a woman they acquire this very sick kind of idea in their mind about that woman. No one knows how does a man’s mind works but God knows therefore to protect her from the negative thinking of men, he asked her to cover herself whenever going out.

2.Travelling alone

Traveling alone

This issue is quite debatable among scholars, especially when they come to discuss whether or not women could go perform Hajj without Mahram (conditional upon the presence of just companions of course). Their differences pertain to whether they take the letter (face value) of the Prophet’s Hadeeths related to this issue or the purpose of it and why the Prophet PBUH gave that specific verdict, and whether it was related to conditions/constraints at the time or it is just beyond time, culture, and specificity in general…
We should not, as Muslims, argue too much in Fiqhi opinions, as too much dispute on those issues would cause discord (fitna) among brothers and sisters.

In Islam it is believed that traveling involves hardship and exhaustion and because of the weakness a woman and the need to have someone to help her and stay by her side, it is forbidden for a woman to travel. Things may happen to her that may cause her to lose control.

A Muslim woman may may live alone and will need to be subject to the condition that she is trustworthy and is not seen as a woman of dubious character. With regard to a woman travelling alone, it is just not allowed.

3. Marrying non-Muslim men

Marriage

A Muslim women is not allowed to marry a non-Muslim man. Such an order is supposedly given from God because in Islam the women follow the religion of the husband therefore if Muslim woman marries a non-Muslim man she won’t remain a Muslim anymore. A Muslim man is allowed to marry non-Muslim women but that women should be either Christian or Jew and should follow a holy book.

4. Disobeying husband

disobey

A Muslim wife should be as obedient as she can to her husband. This preserves the nuclear family and protects it from collapsing. This is part of Islam’s organizing of the family structure.

One should note that a wife’s obedience to her husband falls into one of four categories:

1- To ask her to do something this is commanded by Islam, such as the five prayers. Here the wife must obey her husband, and she would be considered sinful from two perspectives if she fails to obey.

2- To ask her to do something which is beneficial to him, or to refrain from doing something which is harmful to him, such as things which have to do with his food or clothes. She should obey him here unless there is a valid excuse not to.

3- To ask her to do something which falls into her personal affairs, such as asking her to give him money or forbidding her from speaking to a friend for no good reason. Here she can obey him if she wants but she does not have to. She should consider the benefit and harm of such obedience.

4- To order her to disobey Allah’s commands, and here she must disobey her husband.

It is also a woman’s duty not to leave the house unless the husband permits it. She should also never sleep outside the house unless she has permission.

5. Physical interaction with other men

Sexual attraction

Physical interaction between man and a woman is not permitted  in Islam. You are not allowed to interact (touch) any other man or woman except for your own spouses, this scenario is applied for both the genders. A woman is not allowed to indulge with any men other than her own husband. Communication is allowed to a minimal. It is well suited that a man should hangout with men and a woman should hang out with women because it does not lead to the birth of any unmoral thought in the hearts of men and women, according to modern Islamic laws.

Top 10 Common Things Found in a Woman’s Purse

1 2

We have all seen women carrying a huge purse along with themselves and being tiny little fragile human beings that they are, men are always wondering what they carry inside these bags. They assume it must be filled with a lot of junk that is completely unnecessary and certainly for people who carry around all their personal effects in their little wallet (the thinner the better) it certainly must be mind-boggling as to what a women carries around in that tote! Well to ease the discomfort and to put at rest all kinds of theories about women’s purses, here is a list that divulges all the information there is to know! Go through this and find out that women carry around their lives where ever they go, proudly!

1. Gum

gum

A girl is almost always carrying with her some sort of bubble gum in her purse. I  know girls who carry two of the same brands of gum in their bag, both of them unfinished and both of them open and used. There is something about girls and gum that men just cannot seem to figure out. Perhaps having so much gum is why they are so well-tasting as well! Well, well, well, this here might be the reason your girl friend always tastes like strawberries or peach right.

2. The Primer

the primer

The primer, or the base for make-up is an absolute must-have. Most primers are a little expensive, but they are worth it if you want your make-up to last at least 8 hours. What the primer does is help fix the make-up on the skin, and this includes the foundation. If you use primer, the eye shadow will look impeccable all day long.

3. Mascara

mascara

There are many types of mascaras, and everybody knows that long, beautiful, black lashes make beautiful eyes amazing. If you want a natural look, you can use a little mascara, and if you want to go out in the club, you should definitely apply mascara for volume. In other words, you can wear it everywhere, anytime.

4. Purell

Purell

Keep the germ fighting power of Purell in your bag for quick and easy cleaning. You’ll need lotion when coming from a public bathroom, unless you like stiff, dry hands. Tissues are great for sudden runny noses, small spills and the occassional crying episode. For major stains like ketchup on a white dress or bbq sauce on your jeans, definitely look into purchasing a stain stick. A bunch of brands make them and they’re supposed to work like magic. No word on whether or not they actually do. We’ll need some reviews. I once dated a girl who was germaphobic and the only thing she would do is poor the Purell onto her hands about 20 times a day.

5. Chocolate

chocolate
Women’s love for chocolates is a well known fact and hence a total of 10 percent women like to carry chocolates in some form or the other. The research was carried on  by Cadbury Chocolates to launch their new, handbag-sized Dairy Milk Bubbly Mini bar . it also reveled that an average woman carries around 40 items in her handbag.  Interesting statistic – no wonder most women cannot find anything in their purses. They must go digging and digging until they find what they need.

The 10 Greatest Female Protagonists

1 2

In the world of film there have been some breath-taking leading ladies, some of which have been trail blazers for their gender in their profession, as genuinely amazing actors and kick-ass characters. Here is a rundown of ten of the most amazing silver screen seductresses to date:
1. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) – Alien (1979)

Ridley Scott’s Alien was released slap bang in the middle of the female empowerment movement of the late 20th Century and Weaver’s portrayal of the alien fighting space exploring protagonist Ripley, has long been described as symbolic of the social gender power shift within the culture of the time. The infamous image of Weaver surrounded by giant eggs is unapologetically representative and boldly celebratory of the growing power of females at the time.

2. Chihiro – Spirited Away (2001)

Miyazaki’s animated masterpiece sees a young girl being stripped of her parental guidance and protection and thrown into a world completely unlike her own, one which is inhabited by spirits and strange creatures and ruled by an evil bath house keeper/witch; Yubaba. What is most striking about the Chihiro character is the journey she goes through and how much she genuinely grows as a person throughout the movie, Miyazaki’s narrative has been woven with such skill and masterful craft the viewer is oblivious to the personal growth of the character right until the flash back scene at the end where it dawns on you like the warmth of the Japanese sun.

3. Erin Brockovich (Julia Roberts) – Erin Brockovich (2000)

The true story of an unemployed single mother bringing down a Californian power company is beautifully portrayed by Roberts in this unforgettable underdog tale. Brockovich is so instantly relatable for anyone who has felt trapped or helpless in their lives. A truly uplifting feel good story, one for which Roberts received a female’s record breaking $20 million fee for.

4. Lee Holloway (Maggie Gyllenhaal) – Secretary (2002)
Maggie Gyllenhaal gives her most impressive and extraordinary performance to date in the critically acclaimed 2002 smash hit, Secretary. Gyllenhaul carefully and faithfully explores the lines of mental health through her character Lee Holloway as she embarks on a sadomasochistic relationship with her boss Mr. Grey.

5. Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) – The Exorcist (1973)

William Friedkin was celebrated as an absolute pioneer of the horror genre when his 1973 adaptation of the 1971 book of the same name hit the silver screens. The reason Linda Blair has to be added to this list is the fact that her rendition of the demon infested child, that performance that had people running out of movie theatres and passing out in fear, that performance that has had the film named scariest movie of all time, was executed by an actor of only 14, carving her place in horror history forever.

Top 10 Phrases Women Repeatedly Use on Men

1 2

I’ve compiled a list of top 10 phrases women repeatedly use on men. Whether it be for breakups or to get men’s attention, women have been continuously caught. Some of the phrases are metaphorical weapons used to be blunt and to the point. Raise your hand if you recognize 1 or 2.

1. We need to talk:

When there is something wrong or a lady is bothered by something, she will use this phrase to initiate a conversation. Usually this phrase could lead to a breakup or an ultimate argument.

2. There is something you should know:

Although people desire to have a relationship based on trust, this is not always the case. When a woman uses this phrase, she usually wants to admit to something. Women who have a conscious will admit their wrong and will tell their boyfriend or husband about it. Usually women use this because they have either cheated on their significant other or have done something in the past that has come back to haunt them.

3. Whatever:

Men will sometimes encounter stubbornness in women. When women are wrong, they are not always ready to admit it. They will use the phrase “Whatever” to signify that they are not interested in talking about a particular situation and would like to change topics. This phrase is a rude way to deal with an awkward situation. Women who use this term mainly show no respect to their significant other or their feelings.

Whatever could also represent a weapon women use when they are mad. At this point, they are usually done speaking to their male affectionate.

4. Do you know what day is today?

Women usually are the ones that remember the important days in their relationships. Men sometimes need to be reminded of celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions that are important to women. Women thus repeatedly use this phrase to signify that they are expecting a gift from their boyfriend or husband. This phrase usually means that the woman is annoyed and frustrated as well.

5. Five Minutes:

How many men have heard this phrase spoken by women? Women usually speak this term when they are running late and need a few more minutes. When dressing or putting on make-up, 5 minutes usually turns into an hour.

Top 10 Female Peacemakers

1 2

Peace is a time of calm and quiet and is free of commotion. Throughout history this term has synonymously been used with a time of no conflict or war. The soaring 20s was one decade in the 20th century which saw tranquility. During the 1920s, industries were booming, life was blossoming, and countries such as Britain, Germany and France were making pacts.

Peace cannot be solely achieved without humanitarian and international support. Various peacemakers have dedicated their life work to assisting nations and countries torn by abuse, war, conflicts, slums and famine. They put their life at risk to help others and establishing equal power relationships through conflict resolution. As such, this article devotes its space to the following top 10 female peacemakers.

1. Louise Fréchette:

Louise Fréchette served as United Nations Deputy Secretary General. She is also known as a Canadian diplomat and public servant for her role as deputy Minister of National Defense between 1995 and 1998. In 1989, she secretly traveled to Cuba to lobby Fidel Castro’s support for the Gulph War. Throughout the 2000s, Fréchette has advanced United Nation peacekeeping efforts by encouraging more women to join and emphasizing United Nation’s zero tolerance for sexual abuse and assault. Most recently in 2006, Fréchette chaired the Nuclear Energy Futures Project. Her aim is to strengthen global governance in the areas of security, safety and nonproliferation.

2. Maria Ida Giguient

Maria Ida Giguient works for the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and has devoted over two decades to bringing peace to Mindanao and East Timor. Furthermore, she succeeded in drafting a peace agenda for Lumad, an indigenous group in Mindanao in 1998. Today she continues her peacemaking and peace building efforts by training various international groups in diminishing violence.

3. Condoleeza Rice:

Condoleeza Rice is an American diplomat and politician. She served as National Security Advisor to George W. Bush between 2001 and 2005 and as United States’ Secretary of State between 2005 and 2009. Throughout her tenure as Secretary of State, Rice focused on transformational diplomacy which sought to expand, build and sustain democratic governments, especially in the Middle East. She most popularly supported Israel in its fight against terrorism during the Lebanon War in 2006 and Gaza Strip War against Hamas terrorism in late 2008/early 2009.

4. Aung San Suu Kyi

Aung San Suu Kyi is a Burmese opposition politician and a former General Secretary of the National League for Democracy. In 1988, she supported masses in their strife for democracy and reform after General Ne Win stepped down. When the military Junta stepped in, she continued to fight for human rights and equality. Her core beliefs are rooted in the rule of law, which Burma is lacking. She would have been the new Burmese leader in 1990, if the military junta did not nullify the results and place her under house arrest. In 2010 she was released after 15 years of house arrest.

5. Mother Teresa:

Mother Teresa was the founder of Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta. As a peacemaker, she worked to help the poor, the dying, the sick and the orphaned. She set up schools, orphanages and hospitals to help those who were less fortunate. When she died in 1997, her non profit organization had 300 members and 600+ missionaries in more than 100 countries. Her efforts were visibly seen when she put herself in the middle of gunfire to save 37 children in Beirut in 1982. It is thus not surprising that she won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

Top 10 Women In Recent History

1 2

The women mentioned in this list are not household names and people such as Mary Seacole have unfortunately been omitted, as has Florence Nightingale and Marie Curie. This list has tried to combine women from different walks of life, and Princess Diana and Mother Teresa should perhaps have been added, but they appear elsewhere. It was also difficult to place them in order, and certainly this will not be the order many of you would have chosen.

1. Dame Freya Stark (1893-1993)

Dame Freya Stark was the first Westerner to travel through some regions of the Middle East and was the first Western woman to do so. She was fluent in Arabic and Turkish and mastered many other languages and dialects. She liked to be thought of as the female Lawrence of Arabia, but did other work too. She worked as a nurse in Italy during the First World War and during the Second World War worked for the British Ministry of Information, founding the Brotherhood of Freedom in Cairo which was a democratic anti-fascist organization. She wrote many enjoyable, immensely readable books about her travels which are well-worth reading.

2. Mary Edith Durham (1862-1944)

Like Freya Stark , Edith Durham as she was better known, spent time in the Balkans, where she won the respect of the fierce tribes peoples in High Albania. She wrote for “The Times” of London and worked to gather information in The Balkans, which was and is a highly sensitive area, and one of importance to the West. Her books are very readable, and although when she died she had lost the respect of some of her fellow-country people, the Albanians remembered her as she would have wished.

3. Lucrezia Borgia (1480-1519)

Lucrezia Borgia was the daughter of Pope Alexander VI and sister of Cesare, with whom it is said she had an incestuous relationship. Cesare was the epitome of Machiavelli’s “The Prince” and Lucrezia went down in history as a ruthless poisoner, adulteress and schemer, who involved herself with the politics of Renaissance Italy. She became the Duchess of Ferrara on her marriage, which had been arranged by her brother to further the power and influence of the Borgia family. She is one of the women in history who played a very different role to other women of her time.

4. Amelia Earhart ( 1897-1937?)

Amelia Earhart was an intrepid adventurer and aviator whose motto could have been “Adventure is worthwhile in itself.” She was given her first flight by Frank Hawks in 1920 and went on to become only the 16th woman to be granted a pilots licence. Her plane was lost in 1937 and she was legally presumed dead in 1939. In December 2010 some bones were found on a pacific Island which may have been hers, and if they prove to be, the mystery surrounding her demise might be solved.

5. Mary Ann Evans, George Eliot (1819-1886)

Mary Ann Evans used George Eliot as her pen name because she wanted people to read her books, and in the 19th century, women were not supposed to be good authors. Undeterred she went on to write some of the best books in English Literature, notably, “Middlemarch”, “The Mill on the Floss” and others. Critics have said that she did not portray male characters realistically, but given the mores of the time this is perhaps understandable and forgivable.
