Not all pedophiles are guilty. Many countries believe in the guilty until proven innocent act. Throughout history, mistakes and errors were made. 10 of those cost the reputation of the following individuals.
1. Michael Jackson:
In 2005, Jackson was indicted for four counts of molesting a minor, four counts of intoxicating a minor in hopes to molest him, one count of attempted child molestation, and one count of conspiring to hold the boy and his family captive at his Neverland Ranch. The prosecutor was a boy who Jackson cared for, Gavin Arvizo. After a bittering trial, Jackson was found not guilty on all 14 charges. No concrete facts were found, stories did not add up and the mother wagging her finger at the jury made people rethink her motive.
2. Tonya Craft:
This former kindergarten teacher in the state of Georgia was accused of molesting 3 young girls, ages 8 and 9. In 2010, the jury found her not guilty on all 22 counts, including child molestation, sexual battery and aggravated child molestation charges. The stories again did not add up as one victim admitted to lying. There were also no visible signs of sexual abuse in victims.
3. Tuburelo Medina:
Lina Medina was the youngest mother to every give birth at age 5. Her father was arrested on suspicion of rape and incest, but was later released due to lack of evidence. The father of the baby is still unknown. What is speculated is the festivities which occur in the Andes where large orgies do tape place and rape is common.
4. 1986 case:
A defendant in the US was convicted of first degree sexual assault. He was to serve 2 life sentences for his crimes. In 2001, he was released after his daughter admitted to lying about her father molesting her. This lie caused the man 14 years of his freedom.
5. Meredith Maran’s father:
At 37, Maran lied about her father molesting her. She even wrote a book titled My Lie: A true Story of False Memory. She blames the feminist movement in the 1970s and 1980s for instilling the thoughts in her head. She had dreams and nightmares which made her think that the molestation was real.
Carlos De Luna was found under a truck when Wanda Lopez was killed in a gas station. De Luna told the judge that Carlos Hernandez was the person they were looking for but despite the other man’s colorful criminal record, they ignored his pleas. De Luna was executed in 1989.
Larry Griffin was arrested after Quintin Moss was shot to death in 1980. Even though his fingerprints could not be found at the crime scene, other evidence was allegedly found against him. He was executed in 1995 and 10 years later a professor declared that Larry was indeed, innocent.
Ruben Cantu and David Garza robbed two men at gunpoint in 1984. One of the victims panicked and started looking for his pistol because of which the two boys started shooting and killed him. Even though no evidence was found, Cantu was convicted and executed.
David Spence was convicted on the grounds that he raped and killed three girls in Texas. The man received the death penalty even though no concrete evidence was found against him.
Jesse Tafero, Walter Rhodes and Sonia Jacobs were found by three police officers in 1976. Rhodes says that Tafero then shot at the two officers. He also said that the other two were responsible and he was released after about 20 years from jail. Tafero was executed in 1990 but it was recently found that Rhodes had shot at the officers, not him.
