The automobile industry in Asia is flooded with a variety of automobile companies, producing a variety of models of two wheelers. A two wheeler is a very convenient, easy to maintain and hassle free vehicle.
1. Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4v
Stelvio has been produced by the Italian manufacturer Moto Guzzi. The engine of this bike is 1200 cc, twin cylinder and four valves per cylinder. It comes under the sports bike category.
2. Kawasaki Ninja 650R
This motorbike was introduced in 2006 and is also known as ER-6f or ER-6n. Ninja has been designed to be driven on the normal city roads. The engine of Ninja is a parallel twin, 649 cc and liquid cooled. The bike is middleweight. This bike comes under the sports class. Ninja has a duel fuel injection. It has a low seating arrangement. In the Kawasaki range of sports tour bikes, Ninja is the best.
3. Ducati 1098R
This bike was launched in 2007 and has continued since then. Ducati is an Italian manufacturer and it has manufactured many sports bike like the Ducati 1098R. The bike is also known as “ten night eight”. 1098R has succeeded 1098 and 1098S. 1198 has succeeded the Ducati 1098R. This bike is of the sports bike class. The engine is 1098-1198 cc l twin cylinder, liquid cooled, desmodromic and 4 valves per cylinder.
4. Honda CBR 1000RR
The CBR has been launched by the Japanese manufacturer Honda. This bike is also known as Fireblade. The bike comes under the sports bike category. The engine is a 999 cc, 4 cylinder and liquid cooled engine. This has been in the markets since 2004. The bike has been bestowed with the award “Cycle World’s International Bike of the Year 2008-2009”.
5. BMW R1200RT
BMW Motorrad launched BMW R1200RT in 2005. This bike by BMW is a touring motorcycle. Its predecessor was the BMW R1150RT. It has an 1170 cc, 8 valve flat twin and oil/air cooled engine. The motorbike has a six speed gear box. In 2005 and 2006 the bike won the “best tourer” award. Due to various safety issues the bike has been recalled a number of times.

1. Suzuki Hayabusa
This bike is considered to be the most powerful and fastest bike worldwide. It was first introduced in 1999 and the name roughly translates to “black bird”. In the year 2000, the bike recorded over 200 miles per hour. 1350cc, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke and 16 valve are some features that describe this bike’s engine.
2. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14
This bike was introduced in 2006 and the response it received world-wide was remarkable, if not overwhelming. It tried to compete with the Suzuki Hayabusa and recorded over 180 miles per hour. The engine is liquid-cooled, every cylinder has four valves and other features like 1352 cc four-stroke, DOHC deserve mention as well.
3. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
This bike entered the market during the second half of 2004 and the design was modified in 2005. While the bike is extremely fast, it is light, it is fuel efficient and the engine is very strong. Features like 4-stroke, liquid-cooling, 998 cc, 4 valve cylinders and DOHC deserve to be mentioned when describing this extraordinary engine.
4. Suzuki GSX-R1000
This bike was introduced 9 years ago and this exceptional model gained instant popularity due to its engine power. The highest speed of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 was recorded at 178 miles per hour.
5. Yamaha YZF-R1
Yamaha entered this bike into the market during the latter half of the 1990s. The design of the bike as well the engine has been modified over the years, especially during 2002 till 2009. The newest model of the Yamaha YZF-R1 is beautiful in terms of appearance but when it comes to performance, the 2001 model was much better. Its maximum speed has been estimated at 177 miles per hour.

Of the Ten Best Sports Bikes for 2009, first 6 have near equal performance making the selection process more difficult. Our top 10 list is based on styling, engineering, control, price, availability but mostly acceleration, top speed and thrill of riding.
1. Suzuki Hayabusa GSX 1300R
The GSX1300R is our number one sports bike. It was designed to be the fastest despite equal performance to the next 2 bikes on our list. We felt that its potential is slightly ahead of its competitors due to acceleration, potential unrestricted top speed and ride quality. In 2009 the Hayabusa features the best power-to-weight ratio and presents as one of the sharpest looking motorcycles ever made. The revised engine has a claimed 12% increase in power to 194hp / 145 kW. This bird is said to be capable of speeds of over 303km/h electronically restricted with 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 2.47 seconds. The 2009 model has a MSRP of $11,999USD and dry weight 220kg / 485 lbs.
2. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 Monster Energy
This king of the Ninjas offers massive torque, effortless power, agile handling and a comfortable ride to keep itself at the head of the pack in the superbike class at only $12,399USD. This Ninja is capable of accelerating from 0–60 mph in 2.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 299 km/h making it one of the fastest bikes for 2009. It is powered by 203 hp/ 151kW engine.
3. MV Agusta F4 RR 312 1078
The RR 312 is not a machine to be bothered with limits or weak points and for this reason, only the best components that money could buy have been used. The 2009 MV Agusta F4RR 312 1078 is more affordable with the estimated price of $28,000USD. The peak horsepower is in black and white: 190hp / 142kW. Top speed is a scary 299 km/h with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 3 seconds, but equally disconcerting is its dry weight 192kg / 423lbs.
4. Ducati 1198
The 1198 is a race bike, pure and simple. It is estimated price will be $20,995USD. While this engine makes 170bhp / 127kW and with dry weight of 171 kilos. The ‘R’ model will have 10 extra hp but not rated on the track yet. The 0-60 mph time is less than 2.5 seconds and top speed is estimated at 299 km/h for none ‘R’ version.
5. Yamaha YZF-R1
The 2009 R1 is the most confidence-inspiring bike on this list offering performance and equipment worthy of a really modern racing bike for a very reasonable MSRP of $12,500USD. Power is marginally up at a claimed 182hp / 136kW. R1 is expected to reach 100km/h from standstill in about 2.7 seconds with top speed of 299km/h. Due to its dry weight of 190kg / 419lb this R1 has been one of the quickest sports bikes on the market.
