Credit cards and debits cards are included in this, carrying a big amount of cash now-a-days is not a very good idea with all that crime going around. And why do one need to carry bundles of notes when just cards will do all the work? And for all those guys who think that why do women need to carry money when they pay all their bills? Top 10 Things You Should Never Do When at Work

Top 10 Things You Should Never Do When at Work

1 2

Everyone is well aware about the things they ought to do when at work. They very well know how to manage their work, how to talk to the clients, how to talk to the boss etc. there are many people who are great at their work but still they get fires. Doing well at work is not the only thing required when at work, people expect you to be professional when you are at work. There are certain things that you should not do at your workplace. The most important things to be avoided at work are listed down below.

1. Stealing:

stealingStealing is a wrong habit. Stealing anything from anywhere is against moral values. A survey carried by career publisher Vault about the office supplies showed shocking figures. It showed that around 67 percent of the employees have used the office stuff and office belongings outside their work place. They even use the office supplies for their personal work. Things like pens and work notebooks are the most common office supplies that the employees take outside the office. Though you may think that using or taking a pen outside the office for your personal use is not a big issue but what if someone catches you. If you are caught using office belongings for your own use your boss can fire you. Apart from losing your job stealing is also illegal and you can even land up in the prison.

2. Sleeping during working hours

sleep during working hoursYou might have had a sleepless night due to any reason, but it is really unprofessional to sleep at work. There might be times when it becomes difficult to keep our eyes open and keep our head straight but that does not implies that you can rest down your head on your desk. When you are at work it mean you have to give your full time working there and even taking a small nap is not right. It can give a wrong impression of you if your boss happens to see you sleeping during the work hours. He may even fire you from the job. It is better to wash your face, walk a little in the office or drink tea or coffee to avoid sleeping in the office.

3. Misusing office technology:

Misusing office technologyIf you are provided internet access in your office it is not appropriate that you use it to watch some crank videos or to download personal stuffs. Many companies keep the record of the internet used by their co- workers. If you are caught using it for personal use, it can get you fired. It is also not correct to make personal phone calls and sending e- mails using the office supplies. Using office property like printer for personal print- out is also wrong. It is unethical to use the office technology for the personal use.

4. Talking about personal life

Talking about personal lifeWhen at work you should avoid talking about your personal life. It is better to keep yyour professional and personal lives in two different stacks. In today’s world no one is interested in others life. They just need a source of time- pass and a gossip topic. By discussing your problems and expecting your office mates to help you, you are doing nothing but making a fool out of yourself. If you are facing some problem at home and it is hurdling your work at office than instead of talking about it to your colleagues you should talk to your boss about it. Talking to your problems to your office mates is useless and unprofessional. If you keep crying over your problems in front of them than they will get irritated with you and they can even change their views about you.

5. Hitting on your employee:

Hitting on your employeeThis is a natural tendency of a human being to get attracted towards the opposite sex. You should never forget that you are in office and people here come for work and not for finding their soul mates. Instead of wasting your time on trying on someone you should concentrate on your work. Most importantly even if you have managed to get a date for yourself in the office avoid dating your colleague. There are many instances in which people are asked to leave their job or they are transferred to some other place when they are caught dating their colleagues. So if you are in love with your job than try to love someone else other than your office mate. When the ranks of the people who have hooked up aree different than the situation becomes tricky.

1 2

Recently, Gmail has been giving problems to its users. All of a sudden, you may find that you have signed out of your Gmail even without your knowledge! The reason behind this thing is not so clear to us. After all, why should we know about it? Since we are the end users, we just need prompt service and nothing more to it.
So what are the things that you can do when Gmail lets you down all of a sudden? Here we shall see some of the best options for you to spend time effectively without cribbing about how Gmail has turned out these days.

1. Go to Twitter

twitterYou can happily go to Twitter and crib or curse about the nasty Gmail servers that ditched you all of a sudden. In fact, this is one of the best options as you can kill your boredom too while you simultaneously complain about your problem. We are human beings and cribbing about things is our birthright, isn’t it?

2. Choose Facebook or Orkut

orkut_logoIf not Twitter, you can always choose Orkut (err! It is also prone to problems too) or Facebook for this purpose. You could also play some petty games there. You can also blindly take those Facebook quizzes that are best time pass solutions ever.

3. Blog about the problem

blogYou can also blog about this problem of yours caused by Gmail and express your anger and other emotions. In fact, blogs are the best since no one can question you about your expressions. Thus, it is the best place to put all your feelings right there and watch what people have to say.

4. Get some exercise

exerciseTell yourself that you have been sitting in front of the computer for very long so you should consider a small walk in your lane. You can also take your dog along. Get some exercise for your body that has been up all day.

5. Clean your room

clean your roomCare to clean your room, which has never received your attention for over a month or two. Else, you can also try to wipe your PC clean with a cloth or even use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dirt.

Top 10 Strangest Things about the UK’s Peak District

1 2

1. Ashbourne’s Gatepost Skulls

Ashbourne's Gatepost SkullsAshbourne is already a pretty mad place for other reasons (see below) but if you needed another reason to unnerve you and even send an ice-cold shiver down your spine, then the human skulls propping up the tops of the posts at Ashbourne church should do the trick. The hollow sockets stare out at you menacingly on your approach, boring you down and challenging you to enter the sacred grounds like a memento mori straight out of a Jacobean tragedy. They were apparently crafted by one Robert Bakewell in around 1700. Bakewell, you may recognise, is a bit of a name in these parts, more famously associated with the almond tarts, not skulls.

2. Chelmorton Stone Phone Box

Chelmorton Stone Phone BoxOne of the symbols of Great Britain which are recognisable all around the world along with the teapot, James Bond, Beef Eaters from the Tower of London and the Queen, is the bright red phone box. There used to be a law that every population area needed to have at least one public phone box for emergency reasons. Being red, that obviously made it stand out a mile away, again because of emergencies. In Chelmorton they thought ‘to hell with that’ and built a stone one instead so that it would blend in with the architecture of the area.

3. The Quiet Woman Pub

TheQuietWomanA 400-year-old pub in Earl Sterndale (already a pretty interesting name) is called the Quiet Woman. Why is she quiet you ask? Is it because she is a timid sort, given only to shuffling around in the background and in libraries. No it’s because she has been decapitated. She is nothing more than a headless corpse wandering round serving the guests. Not really of course. The story goes that the unfortunate lady in question was a little loose with her tongue and, as a punishment, had her head lopped off. Seems a little extreme to me.

4. Crinkle Crankle Wall

Crinkle Crankle WallOr as you may know it better – the ‘Crinkum Crankum’? Or maybe not. Though that is its alternative title. Apparently this term means ‘zig-zag’ in Ye Olde English but it’s really a wavy-shaped wall to be found at Hopton Hall. The wall is apparently less likely to suffer the wear and tear of age in this format. Fortunately, Noel Edmonds and his crinkley bottom are nowhere to be seen either. So a double win there, then.

5. Hugball

hugballI mentioned Ashbourne was a bit curious in Strangest Thing Number 1. Well, here’s another fact about that place which stands it out from the normal; Hugball is a traditional game played in Ashbourne on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday when the menfolk of town all get involved in one big rolling grapple. The ‘game’ kicks off after a few traditional speeches and the blokes from one part of the town get stuck into the blokes from a different part. The shops have to board up their windows and chaos ensues. The aim is to get the ‘ball’ from one side to t’other but really it’s a good excuse for big old homoerotic free-for-all.

Top 10 Things You Can Put In Your Coffee Cup

1 2

Humans are innately equipped with imagination and creativity, two traits that develop as we grow and learn more about our world. One of the main practical applications of these two invaluable skills consists of finding new and unique uses for the objects in our environment.

If you take a look at the newest trends in terms of multifunctional furniture, you should get the idea. The coffee cup is probably the most overlooked item in this sense, although as you are about to find out, its practicality extends far beyond holding your cup of Joe in the morning. In essence, the standard mug on your desk could fulfill a plethora of roles, helping you arrange and organize the smaller items on your desk. And that is just for starters!

1. Save the change you receive at the supermarket

ChangeA saved dollar is an earned dollar, according to common wisdom, but somehow all the change we receive from the cashier at the grocery store eventually gets misplaced and lost. That happens because we don’t have a designated container for the change and consequentially, we tend to leave it anywhere. In the pockets of last season’s jacket, on the table, under the couch cushions, so on and so forth. At the same time, the added value of change is often underestimated when in reality it can easily reach a couple hundred dollars. Therefore, if you don’t have a piggy bank or a vacation fund jar, the coffee mug could represent an excellent alternative.

2. Keeping your keys at hand at all times

KeysHow many times did you have to leave the house in a hurry only to realize that you can’t find your keys anywhere nor have any idea when you last saw them? Handling the house/car keys are an integral part of our routine and as such, our brain is mainly on “auto mode” while using them. These mechanical actions go unrecorded by the active memory, which explains why you won’t really be able to remember what you did with the keys, particularly if you are under a lot of stress. On the other hand, if you designate a cup for the keys and train yourself to store them there every single time, you will no longer experience this aggravating issue.

3. Any drinkable liquid can be stored in the mug!

liquidAt subconscious level, people exclusively associate the coffee cup with coffee and, as a result, they are reluctant to serve other beverages in it. It’s like a little voice in the back of your head that keeps telling you something is wrong when you put tea or energy drinks in the coffee cup. However, rationally speaking a cup is a cup, so there is no real reason for it to have only one purpose. You can save water and time by not having to wash several other cups, you can avoid that sticky dried grime on the bottom by cleaning it more often, so on and so forth.

4. Collecting marbles but you have no place to store them?

Collecting marblesCollecting unique colorful marbles is an excellent pastime, but where would you possibly store them? Do you actually need a designated box for your assortment? Well no, because the cylindrical shape of the cup makes it an ideal storage space for the spherical marbles. On a side note, this can also apply very well for any type of collection that involves miniature pieces, irrespective of their shape.

5. Screws, nails, nuts and bolts

Screws, nails, nuts and boltsYou never know when you will have to disassemble your computer for its regular cleaning or when an electrical socket in your home has to be replaced. Sure, you have all the tools you need in the process, but what about the small components? Virtually every repair project is likely to require screw and nuts, so why not keep them nearby in order to access them easily? Again, the standard coffee mug is here to save the day.

Top 10 Everyday Things That Could Cause Brain Damage

1 2

There are various brain damaging habits like no breakfast, overeating, smoking, high sugar consumption, air pollution, sleep deprivation etc. We should try to prevent all of these. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important.

This top 10 article focuses on the everyday things we do and use and how they can lead to brain injury, or worse, brain damage. This is a very serious topic that should be read seriously. If you find that you or someone you know is hurting him/herself in any of the following ways, consult with a family physician right away.

1. No Breakfast

Breakfast
For those of you who do not like to eat breakfast- you are probably lowering blood sugar levels in your body. In this case, the supply of nutrients to the brain could be affected. When experts say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, they are not joking.

2. Overeating

Overeating causes hardening of the brain arteries called overacting and the act can decrease your mental power as a result.

3.Brain Usage While Sick

Sick

Think twice before going to work, while sick. If you are ill, your brain and body needs rest and tie to recuperate. Your brain has to do a lot of work during illness to help your body getting rid of the bacteria or infection. If you do additional work, it exposes your brain to extra burden, which is ultimately bad for its health. So never involve yourself in such activities during illness which require a lot of thinking. If you need to take time off of work, then do so.

4. Smoking

Smoking
Smoking is dangerous and almost everybody knows it. But on top of causing lung cancer, heart disease, and even death, a new study suggests that the habit may cause cognitive decline in men.

The study focuses on a compound known as NNK, which is common in tobacco. NNK is a procarinogen, a chemical substance which becomes carcinogenic when it is altered by the metabolic process of the body.

Unlike alcohol or drug abuse, NNK does not appear to harm brain cells directly; however, the team believes it may cause neuroinflamation, a condition which leads to other disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis.

5. High Sugar consumption

sugar

Overeating, poor memory formation, learning disorders, depression – all are linked in a recent study to the over-consumption of sugar. And these linkages point to a problem that is only beginning to be better understood: what our chronic intake of added sugar is doing to our brains.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), an average American has an intake of 156 pounds of added sugar per year. That’s five grocery store shelves loaded with 30 or so one pound bags of sugar each. If you find that hard to believe, that’s probably because sugar is so ever-present in our diets that most of us have no idea how much we’re consuming. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) puts the amount at 27.5 teaspoons of sugar a day per capita, which translates to 440 calories – nearly one quarter of a usual 2000 calorie a day diet.

The 10 Most Memorable Things of 2012

1 2

This top 10  list highlights the most memorable moments of 2012. As 2013 unfolds, we’ll be bring you the most up-to-date information regarding events, tragedies, milestones and celebrations.

1. The world ended (not!)

World endThis was quite possibly the biggest let down that ever happened, not saying that I would have like it to happen, but there was so much controversy and speculation around this that millions of people believed that something bad was going to happen on the 21st December, there were theories of meteors, super volcanos, earthquakes and even a mysterious planet Nibiru that would collide with earth. I feel sorry mostly for the “preppers” for 2012 that spent thousands on shelters and survival food, only for it to be just another day.

2. The Olympics

The OlympicsThis was the biggest event of 2012 with over 90% of the entire U.K population watching at least 15 minutes, therefore making it the most watched television show since the pre digital age. Even 219 million Americans watched it! There was so much patriotism it was crazy, just walking through the streets you could see hundreds of flags of Great Britain flying in the air. There were some crazy things that happened in the events, such as Michael Phelps becoming the most decorated Olympian ever, Bradley Wiggins winning in style on his throne, Gemma gibbons touching win in the judo, and thousands more.

3. Costa Concordia disaster

Costa Concordia disasterThis was extremely tragic, on January 13th the cruise ship Costa Concordia grounded unintentionally and partially capsized injuring many and costing the lives of 34 people. The captain, Captain Schettinno, tried to make his landing look really good and get as close to the shore as possible. He didn’t listen and turned off his depth radar and caused the crash. The cruise liner was heading on a med cruise when the accident occurred. This was all over the news and the wreckage is still there today.

4. The diamond jubilee

Queen VictoriaOur good old queen celebrated her 75th anniversary of her reign. It was only the second to ever happen in this country following Queen Victoria and it was a wonderful day. Like the Olympics everyone turned into crazy patriotic machines decorating everything they can with Great Britain flags and union jacks. This kind of thing only happens once in a blue moon and could possibly never happen again.

5. Mars curiosity rover lands

Mars curiosity rover landsOne of the biggest scientific feats to happen in the whole of the 21st century. People don’t realise how big this machine is, it’s the size of a family car! But in pictures it looks so tiny. It took a year to get to mars and is now on a mission to find any signs of life and just basically wonder around the planet to just have a look what’s there. The rover has travelled 350,000,000 miles through space and it’s always giving information back to earth. In my opinion this is one of the most amazing and exciting things to happen in my lifetime. If it was me on the controls though, I’d be drifting the car in all the dunes and showing those Martians how badass we humans are!

Top 10 Interesting Things You Should Know About The Black Sea

1 2

Connecting Europe to Asia Minor, the Black Sea is full of surprises and mysteries. From the various theories about how it got its name and rumors about it being the landing point of Noah’s Ark to the gruesome facts, such as the intact bodies still resting at the bottom of the sea, it is surely a place worth visiting. Here are some things you might find interesting about this location:

1. The largest basin to contain anoxic water

Perhaps the most intriguing thing about the Black Sea consists in the fact that it is currently the largest anoxic water body (depleted of oxygen) in the world. What this actually means is that the movement between the superior and inferior layers of water is very limited. The lack of oxygen in the lower water layer determines significant temperature differences, both factors making the bottom of the sea inactive. In fact, at around 200 meters of depth, the water contains a hydrogen sulphide zone that makes the presence of any life from impossible.

The Black Sea distinguishes itself via the fact that it has a positive freshwater balance, meaning that it receives more water from rivers and rain than it actually evaporates. The main source of salt water this sea receives comes from the transfer with the Mediterranean Sea. However, the replenishing process performed primarily through the Bosporus is extremely slow (it usually takes hundreds of years). The freshwater and salt water ratio changes according to the seasons, a key factor that has a significant impact on the marine creatures and plants living in the Black Sea.

2. Mysterious ancient shipwrecks

Recent diving expeditions have revealed several wooden shipwrecks perfectly preserved at the bed of the sea. The shipwrecks were dated back to the 3rd and 5th century B.C., a period which is associated with the ascension to glory of the ancient Greece. In addition to the preserved wood shipwrecks, scientists have also discovered the bones of a very large freshwater catfish species. The remains as well as the other items found at the site suggest that the Black Sea represented the crossroad of the Ancient World.

3. The largest underwater river

The mystery of the channels typically found at the bottom of the ocean floor is partially elucidated with the discovery of a very large underwater river in the Black Sea. The underwater river is the first flowing water that is still active and, because it carries sediments across the sea floor, researchers now believe that it has the potential of sustaining life in the inhospitable lower layer of the Black Sea. Sadly, verifying this hypothesis is extremely difficult due to the currents, rapids and waterfalls.

4. The water levels are always the same

Because the low and high tides in the Black Sea are absent, there are not fluctuations in the water levels. Consequentially, the sea surface is always calm, quiet and even serene.

5. Home to many exotic small islands

The Black Sea accommodates ten small islands, all of them incorporating unique eco systems with amazing flora and fauna. Add the fact that the islands are currently part of three different countries and you will understand why visiting these exotic islands is such a thrilling and interesting adventure.
