Top 10 Worst Actors of the 21St Century

1 2

Even some of the biggest names and the most talented folks have their own faults and shortcomings. They tend to overdo it, seeking much bigger fame than they could take on. This top 10 list focuses on a large number of wrongdoers who’ve failed to take home the bacon. A list of top 10 worst actors of the 21st Century would not be the same without the following actors.

1. Miley Cyrus:

Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus is the daughter of one of the most famous country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Her birth name is Destiny Hope, which was given to her by her parents who yearned for her to succeed in life. Her childhood name was Smiley, as she was always cheerful in nature. Smiley was eventually shortened to Miley.

In 2005, Miley landed a lead role in the new Disney series, Hannah Montana, after originally being rejected for being too small and too young. On the show, she played an average teen who lived a double life as a famous pop singer.

Hannah Montana became one of the most watched shows for kids between ages 6 and 14. Its success continued in song with the release of the Hannah Montana soundtrack album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually became a triple platinum.

In spite of her initial success, she was widely mauled for her first serious acting role. Critics panned her performance in a romantic drama, The Last Song, her first bid at serious acting. One critic even went as far as to compare Cyrus to Britney Spears’ disreputable and ill-famed movie Crossroads.

2. Britney Spears:

Britney SpearsNumber 1 brings us to number 2: Britney Spears.

A “Pop Phenomenon” does not begin to describe Britney Spears. The name is synonymous with legend, fame and beauty around the world. So well-known is Britney Spears now that it is difficult to envision a world without her.

Ever since she was 7, she would perform in front of the TV for her guests who would arrive at her home. Instead of playing with the other kids at recess in schools, she would gather her friends and hold Star Search competitions. At 8, she unsuccessfully bid for the Disney Channel’s New Mickey Mouse Club. She big again at age 11 and was chosen for the cast, alongside rising stars like Justin Timberlake and Keri Russell.

Britney rose to fame in December of 1998 when she landed a contract with Jive Records. Her first single, Baby One More Time, topped the charts. She took on a lot of criticism for wearing a skimpy Catholic schoolgirl uniform. She fired back, insisting she was innocent Southern girl.

Over the years, she’s won numerous awards, including a Grammy, 6 MTV Video awards and 9 Billboard Music Awards. She has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making her one of the bestselling music phenomena worldwide.

With great fame comes controversy. Britney has had a tumultuous life. She’s been married, had kids and got divorced. Then she went insane, brought on by post-partum, but now things seem to be back to normal.

This controversial figure comes in at number two for her unsuccessful acting career. Her film Crossroads (2002) received mostly negative reviews and had a 14% approval rating on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Elizabeth Weitzman noted that the film had no cohesive direction and failed to provide an intelligent dialogue or a comprehensible plot.

3. John Travolta:

John TravoltaTravolta is a multi-Golden Globe award winner who somewhat deserves to be on this list. He started his acting career in the 19870s and also was nominated for an Academy award for his work on Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever.

His movie Battlefield Earth was a total disaster, bagging 9 Razzies and a whopping 2 stars from me. He also received a 2% rotten rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The consensus was that the film was “ugly, campy and poorly acted .”

He was also nominated for the Worst Actor Award for the movie Perfect, which was neither a commercial nor critical success. The movie was underappreciated and criticized for being a tight performance.

Despite his shortcomings, John Travolta is one of the most gifted actors in the movie industry. He can play almost any role, but due to poor choices and bad mixtures, he got himself into pitiable productions. His sour image still has not recovered since Battlefield Earth.

4. Cameron Diaz:

Cameron DiazCameron Diaz has had many strong performances, including Vanilla Sky, Gangs of New York, The Mask and her voiceover in Shrek.

She rose to fame in the 1990s and has received the Golden Globe nominations for her performances in the movies There’s Something About Mary, Being John Malkovitch, Vanilla Sky and Gangs of New York.

In 2010, Diaz was ranked by Forbes Magazine as the richest Hispanic female celebrity, ranking at 60 of the 100 wealthiest.

The movie The Box landed her on this list. She was dishonoured at the Lazzies Award with the “There’s Always Waitressing Award”. Her horrible southern accent and her deer caught in headlights facial expression she wore in the entire film were criticized.

5. Justin Timberlake:

Justin TimberlakeActing is just the one thing that Timberlake, the former member of NSYNC, cannot do.

At 31, he’s gained six Grammys, a couple of Emmys and two solo albums. I’m still smitten and proud of his accomplishments in music. I never expected to see him as the mega hit he is today. Despite singing, dancing and owning on “Saturday Night Life,” Mr. JT has a successful clothingline, William Rast; a burgeoning restaurant franchise in Southern Hospitality in New York City, a record label, Tennman Records.

His acting skills need a bit of a touch up. His films Friends with Benefits, The Social Network and Bad Teacher, were not his best films. He was not able to stand out with the crowd, especially in Bad Teacher, where he paired up with another actor on this list Cameron Diaz. Only time will tell if this singer will become a good actor.

Top 10 Worst Shoe Designs

1 2

Simple elegance is usually the key to dressing well. For men, simple Oxford-style lace-ups as favoured by George Clooney always make a man look smart and sophisticated and a sleek pair of black patent heels can compliment an array of outfits for women. So why is it that so many shoe designers manage to make such spectacular mistakes on such a regular basis? Here are examples of some of the worst shoe designs of recent years:

1. Adidas Slave Shoes

Trainers are usually designed to help their wearer in their sporting endeavours. Soles are made to absorb the impact of running on the knee, for example. One thing, however, that would be sure to impede any athlete would be the attachment of a cheap looking plastic shackle. As well as being garish to look at, an oblique mix of orange greys and purples, the shoe design is, of course, incredibly offensive and a sad reminder of slavery. The item, designed by Jeremy Scott, was described by civil rights campaigner Jesse Jackson as a “human degredation”.

2. Gun shoes

Taylor Momsem this yer was seen sporting a gimicked heel which was designed to look like a pistol and straps made to appear like bullet holders. That in of itself would be enough to include it in a horrible design list but the fact the six inch heel was coupled with a four inch platform made the shoes as awkward as they were bad looking.

3. Kim Kardashian’s Snakeskin Thigh High Boots

A target of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for her propensity to wear fur, Kim Kardashian decided to further bait animal rights groups with a pair of snakeskin boots whilst on a trip to Paris. If, as she claims, Kardashian owns over 200 pairs of Christian Louboutin’s then these must surely be her worst – ethics aside, snakeskin boots compliment a total of zero outfits and are, quite frankly, an eyesore.

4. Heel-less Heel

This season wedges have enjoyed something of a renaissance due to the fact that whilst they give all tghe benefits of heels they also offer extra support on the wearers arches. A recent trend, favoured by the brave likes of Lucy Liu, has been to remove all the support from high heeled shoes altogether by not having a heel at all but rather just an angled shoe. The heel-less shoe is more likely to make observers wonder how the wearer is balancing rather than marvel at their design.

5. High Heeled Heel-less Trainers

Willow Smith has taken to wearing shoes similair to the ones described above but with one twist. Instead of a classic heel design fixed in to a heeled position, Willow’s shoes feature, instead, trainers which are melded into this uncomfortable angle. This means they have neither the aesthetic value of classic heels or the practical values of trainers.

Top 10 Worst Movie Bathroom Scenes

1 2

Bathroom scenes have defined cinemas. They have changed the way we look at stars and movies. Some of them are pointless and are cut too short. The meaning could have been better and illustrated in a more thoughtful manner.

1. Dumb & Dumber:

Lloyd thought Harry was stealing the girl of his dreams. In order to prevent Harry from going on a date, Lloyd adds laxative to his tea. Harry ends up on a toilet, but problems arise when he enters a toilet that is broken. I thought the scene was a bit cheesy as it cut out the repercussions and the ending. How did Harry manage to get off the toilet? Remember the story revolved around 2 not so clever people.

2. Rat Race:

The scene where Cuba Gooding Jr. acts as bus driver was funny, but also awkward for those who are transgendered. The woman was asking Gooding Jr. about the broken toilet. When finding out that the woman was really a man, stereotypes and prejudices came into play.

3. Jurassic Park:

I really thought one scene on the toilet was a bit cheesy and scary at the same time. The lawyer was eaten when a Dinosaur broke down the outhouse where he was doing his business. The outhouse was made of straws. Why would anyone put a washroom made of straws where dinosaurs can invade? This was in fact an amusement park with cloned dinosaurs. Did they forget to calculate risks?

4. Trainspotting:

Disgusting, gross, weird scene! Renton dives into the toilet bowl that could be deemed the worst in the world. The scene was based on 1973 novel Gravity’s Rainbow.

5. Snakes on the Plane:

Snakes in enclosed areas are a scary thought. There were two bathroom scenes in this film that were cheesy and horrifying at the same time. It made you wince and laugh as the snake latches itself on a woman’s tit and on dude’s junk.

Top 10 Worst Led Zeppelin Songs

1 2

Led Zeppelin is an influential rock band that has made history in both 1960s and the 1970s. They influenced a number of artists today with their vocals, music usages and techniques. Some songs did not hit well and were terrible. Here are the 10 songs, I feel, did not take home the bacon.

1. “Stairway to Heaven”
This is by far the worst song by Led Zeppelin. The group came out with this song in 1970 in the album Led Zeppelin III. It was a complete let down. The wording of the lyrics was obscure and open to vague interpretation. No specific meaning could be applied.

2. “Four Sticks”
Great album: Led Zeppelin IV. It was one of my most favourite to have been released by the rock group. This song absolutely reeked. The vocals were off.

3. “Your Time is Gonna Come”

This song was released in 1969 in the debut album. The song is about a lady who is unfaithful and who pays the price for her betrayal. The song was only once performed in concert in Tokyo in 1971. It is generally a good song with an overload and a distorted bass. The distorted bass can distract you from enjoying the music.

4. “The Lemon Song”

The song was featured in the 1969 album Led Zeppelin II. The song was recorded live in the studio with no electric devises. Some of the lyrics, “squeeze my lemon till the juice runs down my leg,” can be attributed to Robert Johnson and his hit “Travelling Riverside Blues.” The song was an adaptation to Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor”. The group was sued over copyright infringement. Additionally, many critics believe that the song was overdubbed when in concert.

5. “For Your Life”

This was way to Blues for a band that is a Rock Band. It tends to repeat itself and gets a bit boring. The theme is good though, given that Robert Plant discusses a drug-addicted friend. The tune was excellent as well.

Top 10 World’s Worst Prison Riots

1 2

Prison riots have increased the last few decades. Appalling conditions as well unfair treatment caused grievances amongst inmates. This article sets out to examine 10 case studies that are worth mentioning.

1. Carandiru Prison Riot:

The riot turned into a massacre on October 2, 1992. This was and still is considered a major human rights violation in the history of Brazil. The massacre was caused by a prisoner revolt within the prison. There were no negotiations done, before the prison got stormed by military state police. 111 people were killed in the massacre.

2. Canon City Prison Riots:

On October 3, 1929, one of the most bloody prison riots in U.S. History occurred. Prisoners took guards hostage in order to attempt an escape. Much of the prison was destroyed and resulted in the deaths of 8 guards; 9 others were wounded. 5 of the prisoner insurgencies were either killed or committed suicide, while John F. Hickman suffered injuries.

3. Apodaca Prison Riot:

On February 20, 2012, 44 inmates were killed and several others were injured and wounded. The riot took place inside the Apodaca prison in the northern state of Nuevo Leon in Mexico. All of those who have been confirmed as dead were from the D Dormitory. The cause of the riot was a power struggle between members of the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetos Cartel. Both groups try to control drug sales inside the prison. Drug trafficking has already cost the lives of 47,000 people in Mexican when President Calderon launched a war against organized crimes in 2006.

4. New Mexico State Penitentiary Riot:

The riot took place on February 2nd and 3rd of 1980. The penitentiary was a state maximum security facility south of Sante Fe. This was one of the most violent prison acts in American history with 33 dead and 200 injured. Many officers were taken hostage; however, none were killed. The cause of the riots was atrocious prison conditions. It was also quite predicted, but not prevented.

5. Strangeways Prison Riot:

This 1990 prison riot in Manchester, England lasted for 25 days; making it the longest in British penal history. The riots commenced when prisoners took over the prison chapel. From there it spread throughout the whole prison. The riot left 2 men dead and 194 injured. Things changed within the British penal system. Conditions were bettered as well, including telephone lines and an end to slopping out.

Top 10 Worst Songs by the Who

1 2

This list looks at some of the pitfalls of The Who. The Who was a great rock band in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Many of their songs could have been more meaningful if they were longer. Other songs were ruined by covers written by contemporary stars.

1. Squeeze Box:

This is one of the most perplexed songs I’ve heard so far. It’s not bad and it’s not good either. There is no apparent meaning to this song. Songwriter Pete Townshend even said it himself. He was unsure why his band even sang Squeeze Box. To this day I cannot imagine why someone would make a song about parents having sex and a father playing with a mother’s breasts.

2. My Generation:

This was first sung and released on November 5, 1965. The song was popular, especially on VH1’s list of 100 Greatest Songs of Rock & Roll and the Rolling Stones’ 500 Songs that Shapes Rock and Roll. Hilary Duff sung a cover for this song in Japan. That just basically ruined the whole song altogether. People now associate this song with something that Duff sang.

3. Boris the Spider:

This is a nonsensical song that sounded as if it was from a nursery rhyme. This was the first composition by John Entwistle. The lyrics were written when Entwistle and Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman went drinking and made funny names for animals.

4. Behind Blue Eyes:

Pete Townshend wrote this about a character in his Lifehouse project. It was to be used as a main song in the Lifehouse film. The lyrics are based on Townshend’s feelings of angst. No one knew what it was like to be a star with high expectations and pressures to be someone he is not. The song was great and was popular in the 1970s. Sadly, a group named Limp Bizkit decided to cover the song in 1998. You could no longer understand the angst, the suffering and the issues of drugs, abuse that the Who put forth.

5. Pinball Wizard:

This song was part of the Tommy Album that was released in 1969. The album was about a young man who is deaf, dumb and blind. The man becomes a pinball champion and gains the attention of multitude of fans. Tommy played pinball because he desired to feel the vibrations of the machine. The idea to the song was good; however, I fail to understand why the word dumb was overused. Overall, the song did not have much sense to it conceptually. At least the album had no fillers. I’ll give them that credit.

Top 10 Worst Places To Breakup

1 2

Breakups are never easy. People should choose the right moments. These occurrences should not be public and should be done in private between the two parties. Here is a list of 10 places you should not break up with someone.

1. Restaurants:

Do yourself a favour and do not do this in a restaurant. You may end up causing a scene which may get you kicked out. Be tactful and do not choose a public place where you go usually.

2. Park:

This is definitely not a good idea. First of all, parks have kids walking around. What example are you purporting when you are arguing over an imminent break-up? Just like in a restaurant, you may be asked to leave.

3. Birthday Party:

Do not be David Silver on 90210, who broke up with his high school sweetheart on her birthday and at her birthday party. He was not very smooth about it either. Heartless people do this. Do not follow suit.

4. Vacation/Holiday:

This is the worst place to break-up. You are stuck together on the trip. You cannot just change flights just because you do not want to see the person. You may want to even try to use the time to talk.

My friend was getting married after being in a long distance relationship. As soon as things got sour, she booked an earlier flight out and was back home in no time. It cost her $150 to change flights.

5. Kitchen:

This is not a good idea to initiate a conversation about breakups. It has a number of sharp objects that should be avoided when getting someone upset.

Top 10 Worst Products Sold By Tim Hortons

1 2

Tim Hortons is one of the most popular places to go in Canada to get coffee. It has the good and the bad, which sometimes angers customers. Here is the list of the bad. I worked in Tim Hortons for 7 years. I’ve seen it all and tasted it all.

1. Steeped Tea

Steeped Tea was a refreshing idea introduced by Tim Hortons. However, not many customers opt for the tea. Many still wish to buy bagged teas. Sadly, Tim Hortons decided to charge the same amount for bagged teas as steeped teas. This means that the only difference between an XL and Small bagged tea is the amount of water and an extra bag (for larger sizes).

2. Breakfast Sandwich:

Tim Hortons introduced its breakfast program to compete with various other fast food businesses such as McDonald’s. The problem with this is that it is not healthy and nutritious. Processed cheese and bacon are the most fattening items. An additional problem stems from the fact that the food items come frozen, including eggs.

3. Fruit Smoothie:

The smoothie was a good publicity stunt by the marketing department. However, the smoothie is not made from real fruit. They rather use fruit juices to add flavour to their smoothies. These juices are not Tropicana; they are a Tim Hortons’ brand.

4. Lemon Glazed

Caked donuts are not the most popular. To boost sales they added a lemon flavoured cake donut. These donuts were disgusting and thankfully discontinued. This was one way Tim Hortons tried to implement something innovative but failed.

5. Chicken Stew:

This tasted beyond disgusting. It was not selling and many businesses lost money making it every day and throwing it away. Its beef stew counterpart was fabulous. Sadly, they did not keep the latter instead.

Top 10 Worst Thanksgiving Dishes

1 2

Thanksgiving has been referred to as the biggest eating holiday of the year. Research shows that the average American can eat as much as 4,500 calories and 229 g of fat on Thanksgiving Day. But it’s not all bad. Thanksgiving offers plenty of healthy options. Check out the nutrition ranking of each traditional Thanksgiving menu and fill your plate with the most healthy items. Be sure to stay away from these repulsive and less healthy options from the bottom of this list. Believe me, you wouldn’t want to touch any of this.

1. Ambrosia Salad:

Ambrosia salads include canned fruit, coconut, and mini marshmallows with either mayonnaise or sour cream. Many add Jello or whipped cream on top. The taste is not good, especially with the use of canned fruit.

The dish is passed down from generation to generation as a refreshing palate cleanser after a meal, but now is a tradition after the BBQ.

2. Lima Bean Stew:

This is not a bad dish for those who love beans. Lima Beans are a laxative and will cause guests who eat it to have wild bowel movements.

Did you know? Eating raw or sprouted lima beans can cause stomach cramping, diarrhea and vomiting. In addition, eating large quantities of undercooked beans can release cyanide (from cyanogenic glucosides), which can impair tissue oxygenation and cause chronic illnesses.

3. Sweet Potato Casserole:

Marshmallows are for desert mostly. I cannot understand why someone would combine them with Sweet Potato. The taste is absolutely atrocious. The sweet potatoes are already sweet, marshmallows are thus not needed.

Did You Know? Yam and Sweet Potato are two different vegetables. Sweet potatoes should not be confused with yams, another starchy root commonly grown in Western Africa. Yams are much larger in size and can grow up to 120 pounds in weight and 2 meters in length. Yams are the tropical crops and hardly grow where the temperatures dip below 68 degrees F. Important differentiating features that distinguish sweet potatoes from yams are:

4. Tofu turkey:

I cannot imagine why anyone would waste their money on a fake turkey. It beats the whole tradition of having one in the first place. Thanksgiving could be celebrated by vegetarians in other ways.

Did you know? Over 200 million turkeys were raised in the U.S. in 2012 for slaughter. Those birds were worth approximately U.S. $4.5 billion.

5. Green Bean Casserole with Canned Onions:

The dish consists of green beans, cream of mushroom soup and canned French fried onions. This should be made with fried onions which should not be canned. The taste would be much different.

Top 10 Worst Sitcoms Of 1990s And 2000s

1 2

1990s and 2000s saw an insurgency in a number of failed sitcoms. Many of them were bad from the start and got cancelled after just a few episodes. Here are 10 worst sitcoms of the 1990s and 2000s.

1. Joey (2004):

It is irritating to see actors and fans try to revive something that died and disappeared. Joe Tribbiani was famous on the sitcom Friends. He develops his own show, Joey where he moves to LA to develop his movie career. The first season was good, but as we see in many sitcoms which run too long, characters get boring and story-lines run out. It had no chance when competing with American Idol and was cancelled in March of 2006.

2. Accidentally on Purpose (2009):

Jenna Elfman did not click with viewers as she did on Dharma and Greg. Her humor was drier and it was not as appealing to watch an older character use her charm. Having mixed reviews and scoring 49/100 on Metacritic, the show was cancelled after 18 episodes.

3. Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993)

Producer Peter Engel was pushing this franchise just a bit overboard. I just cannot understand how the show ran for 7 seasons. The franchise was ruined after the sixth season. Screech was no longer funny and the appeal Mr. Belding once had in 1980s and 1990s was gone. I think producers should have stopped production after the wedding of Zack and Kelly. It would have been the happily ever after story we all wanted to see happen.

4. Michael Richards Show (2000):

This sitcom was about a private detective who gets things done in an eccentric way. Richards tried to play a role that was different than his Seinfeld character Kramer. He deeply made a fool of himself here and the show ran its course for a pitiful 9 episodes.

5. Baby Bob (2000):

This sitcom was about a spy baby who could talk. We are adults and unless this is a cartoon, talking babies are not really funny to watch. The first week, the sitcom rated 15th on the charts. The show was cancelled after 11 aired episodes.
