This is another road which can be quite dangerous. It requires a great deal of concentration on driving, as the massive rock walls in many of them can make your travel quite risky. The wall of the tunnel is uneven and consists of at least 30 “windows” of various shapes and sizes. Some windows are square and some are round and are of various lengths and sizes. It can be quite scary to see out from the windows as you can see a seemingly bottomless pit below and cliffs hanging from above. Opposite the tunnel you can also see a village hanging on the precipice.

Another one of quite unforgiving roads which has too many tunnels carved in the mountain rock is the Taroka Gorge road.

This is a converted hiking trail and a old road. For its spectacular views, it is the hot favorite among mountain bikers. It also has cool tunnels and provides some hair-raising precipices.

The Halsema Highway, also known as the Baguio-Bontoc Road, runs through the Central Cordillera Valley on the island of Luzon in The Philippines. It is approximately 150 miles long and takes about 10 hours to get from Baguio city to Sagada on a nice day. It is known for mud slides, rock slides and buses can be seen going fast through its narrow passage. The road also traverses through some of the lesser known provinces in The Philippines. Several accidents happen here yearly and overturned buses are a common sight. There are also sheer drop offs of over 1000 feet without a guard rail. The roads are also impassable in the rainy season.
