Ray Charles is world renowned because he basically created his own genre of music. What he did was take several elements from country, gospel and blues and form a style that was completely unique and different in every way. He is featured in the list of the best artists of all time by Rolling Stone. This famous musician was blind by the time he turned six.


7. Jacqueline du Pré

Jacqueline du Pré played the cellist brilliantly even though she suffered from multiple sclerosis. Her performances were said to be legendary and out of the world. However, her illness caused her to slow down her career and she died at the age of 28. No cellist has matched up to her ever since.

Tony Iommi had an accident in his metal factory which caused him to lose the tips of his ringer and middle finger. He thought about ending his career but a fellow musician told him that he should go on. He took his advice and sold about 20 million albums.

Rick Allen is a part of the popular band, Def Leppard. He had a car accident in 1984 because of which he lost his arm. Even though the doctors were able to attach the arm again, he contracted an infection because of which it had to be removed again. He managed to play the drums irregardless after several engineers came together and created a specially designed drum kit for him.
